SPECTRA, Aberdeen's multi award-winning festival of light and sound, returns to light up the Granite City from Thursday 9 – Sunday 12 February 2023.

Writer and director Francesco Paladino of 'Orange is the New Black' and 'The Wendy Williams Show' will present the premier production of his three original one-acts at the Montclair Women's Club on February 4th at 8pm.

The Obie Award-winning Metropolitan Playhouse, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, will present She’s Got Harlem on Her Mind, an evening of three short plays by influential Harlem Renaissance writer Eulalie Spence (1894–1981).

Theatre at St. Clement’s to present a one night only staged reading of Zaglada, a new play by Richard Vetere, directed by Dan Wackerman at Theatre at St. Clement’s on Monday, January 23 at 7pm. Admission is free.

Sleepova, an ode to black women and their boundless spirits and wild dreams is a new Bush commission from Matilda Feyiṣayọ Ibini (Little Miss Burden) opening on 24 February (press night 1 March).  Sleepova marks the stage debut of three actresses including Bukky Bakray (Rocks), who at 19, became the youngest BAFTA Rising Star Award recipient as well as one of the youngest 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' nominees.

The Impostors Theatre Company (ITC) continues their fourth season with the world premiere of the musical Miranda: A War-Torn Fable, written and composed by ITC ensemble member Dominick Vincent Alesia. Miranda: A War-Torn Fable runs February 17 – March 4, 2023 in the Upstairs Mainstage at The Den Theatre, 1331 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622.

Someone finds solace in a comic book store. For others, the Adelaide Zoo and the Adelaide City Library are safe havens from medical appointments. 

The International Association of Blacks in Dance has announced the world-renowned dance faculty and celebrated instructors for on the 1 | a dance class series from January 26-28, 2023 at various times from 10:30am-6:00pm at Canada's National Ballet School.

Trinity Repertory Company has announced the four Rhode Island residents who will be honored at its 24th Pell Awards Gala on Monday, June 5, 2023 at WaterFire Arts Center.

The Everyman Theatre announced today that Tuyết Thị Phạm has joined the organization as Associate Artistic Director and member of The Resident Company of Artists. Everyman Theatre is one of only a handful of Regional Theatres that has a resident company of professional artists as part of its mission, and Phạm is only the second Associate Artistic Director who is also a member of the Resident Company as an actor.   

Maria-Christina Oliveras has joined the cast of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton.  Ms. Oliveras has assumed the role of Church Lady.
