From Salon To Stage Comes to Technopolis 20

The Australian mezzo soprano Miriam Sharrad (Opera Studio) and the pianist Adrian Sims met through their love of musical theatre. Three years on, they are thrilled to present Salon to Stage to audiences in London, Edinburgh, Cyprus and in 2020, Sydney and Adelaide. Salon to Stage originates in the salons of Duparc and Rachmaninov, then journeys through Gershwin on Broadway, to Mozart and Puccini opera. Punctuated by a piano solo, the evening of Sunday, 20th of October, 6pm, at Technopolis 20, should provide something for everyone!

Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Announces 2019-2020 Season

Riverside Opera Company Presents SUPERSTARS Concert!

The Riverside Opera Company (ROC), under the direction of award-winning conductor Maestro Alan Aurelia, presents: Superstars! on Saturday, October 19, 8 p.m. at St. Teresa's Church, 1634 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, NY. ROC held city-wide auditions and the  winners  are the featured performers in Superstars! Gina Hanzlick, soprano; Chantelle Grant, mezzo soprano; Hyunho Cho, tenor and Joseph Gansert, baritone are accompanied by a 57 piece orchestra conducted by Maestro Alan Aurelia as they perform operatic favorites.

Complete Lineup Announced for Neil Crory Tribute Concert

The program has been unveiled for the Neil Crory Tribute Concert on Friday, October 11, 7 PM, at Jeanne Lamon Hall, Trinity-St. Paul's Centre. An unprecedented lineup of stellar Canadian singers whose careers Crory nurtured will take part in this extraordinary celebration of music and the human voice in honour of the legendary CBC Music producer, mentor, impresario, colleague, and friend who died on January 10 at the age of 68.

Tesla Quartet and Clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein Release Joy & Desolation On Orchid Classics

On Friday, October 18, 2019, the award-winning Tesla Quartet (Ross Snyder & Michelle Lie, violins; Edwin Kaplan, viola; Serafim Smigelskiy, cello) releases its second album, Joy & Desolation, on Orchid Classics. The record features performances of Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K581; Gerald Finzi's Five Bagatelles arranged by Christian Alexander; John Corigliano's Soliloquy (1995); and Carolina Heredia's Ius in Bello (2014) with acclaimed clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein. The program on Joy & Desolation is all about contrasts: the duality of light and darkness, joy and despair, isolation and inclusion. Recorded at idyllic Wyastone, a retired concert hall nestled along the River Wye in England, the Tesla Quartet and Alexander Fiterstein used this recording as an opportunity to dive deeper into their art and to explore how they make music together.

The 22nd Beijing Music Festival Presents Unique Music Experiences

Celebrating its twenty-second year, the 2019 Beijing Music Festival (BMF) presents an art feast for audiences during Beijing's golden autumn. Over the past two decades, world-renowned conductor Long Yu established a rich artistic foundation for the Beijing Music Festival. And beginning in 2018, the new artistic director Shuang Zou, with the support of Maestro Long Yu, the BMF Artistic Committee, and supporting staff, has succeeded in incorporating more inclusive and avant-garde artistic elements to the festival, which are sure to surprise and impress audiences.

Cincinnati's Vocal Arts Ensemble (VAE) returns for its 40th- anniversary season with four unique concert programs in three historic venues: Christ Church Cathedral, St. Rose Church, and Memorial Hall, the VAE's permanent home. 

Odyssey Opera Begins Tudor-Centric Season With HENRY VIII

One of the nation's most adventurous opera companies, Odyssey Opera, begins its seventh season with a concert performance of Henry VIII (1883) by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns based on El cisma en Inglaterra (The schism in England) by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. This kick-starts the company's 2019-20 season featuring concert and staged operas about the great English dynasty of the 16th century: the Tudors. With libretto by Léonce Détroyat and Armand Silvestre, Henry VIII brings to life one of history's most infamous love triangles featuring baritone Michael Chioldi as King Henry, soprano Ellie Dehn as Henry's first wife, Catherine of Aragon, and mezzo-soprano Hilary Ginther as Henry's second wife, Anne Boleyn.

Named as The Times's classical 'Face to Watch' of 2019, conductor Jessica Cottis returns to the BBC Proms to conduct 'The Lost Words' themed programme, inspired by the bestselling book by Robert Macfarlane.

The Orchestra Now Announces 5th Season Including Premieres By César Franck, Zhou Long, And More

The Orchestra Now (TŌN), the visionary orchestra and master's degree program founded by Bard College president, conductor, educator, and music historian Leon Botstein, begins its fifth season on September 14, 2019. Five different series and three special events will offer 19 diverse programs and 31 performances presenting novel combinations of both time-honored and lesser-known repertoire through May 17, 2020. Since the Orchestra's launch in 2015, the young members of TŌN have performed 261 works by 137 composers for more than 50,000 people in 23 venues, with 158 soloists and 15 conductors.

BWW Review: PROM 35: ENIGMA VARIATIONS, Royal Albert Hall

Conductor Martyn Brabbins celebrated his 60th birthday in fine fashion: with a new commission for 14 composers to create their own set of orchestral variations on an anonymous theme, mirroring the shape of Elgar's Enigma Variations. Programme notes from the composers illustrated a genuine fondness for the celebrated conductor, and their perceptions of him - energy, warmth, generosity, humour and virtuosity - shone through in an impressively unified work.

Australian Chamber Orchestra Announce 2020 Season

In 2020 the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) celebrates Richard Tognetti's 30th year as Artistic Director. Since his appointment in 1990, Tognetti has endlessly experimented with the musical form, honouring the music of the past while lifting chamber and orchestral music into sublime new realms. His 30-year leadership of the ACO has been characterised by experimentation, ground-breaking collaborations and immersive, dynamic performances that have seen the 17-piece ensemble hailed as 'one of the wonders of the musical world' (The Guardian UK).

Summer Band Concert Announced At Merrill Auditorium

Come hear a fabulous concert full of wind band gems directed by a plethora of different conductors! The University of Southern Maine School of Music is proud to present the final concert performance of the inaugural USM Conducting Workshop, featuring Greater Portland's beloved Casco Bay Wind Symphony, eight participating conductors, and world-renowned guest conductor Eugene Migliaro Corporon from the University of North Texas. TITANIC THE MUSICAL Announces Casting and New Dates For International Tour

Following the first ever UK & Ireland tour of Titanic The Musical in 2018, casting has been revealed as the production prepares for its 2019 worldwide tour. After opening at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking on 11 July 2019, the production led by returning director Thom Southerland will tour across the world until 15 December 2019.
