Utah Symphony Announces Six-Concert Series At New Noorda Center

The Utah Symphony and Utah Valley University officials today announced the Utah Symphony's six concert series at the new 130,000 square foot Noorda Center for the Performing Arts in Orem, Utah as part of the orchestra's 2019-20 season. Shawn Mendes Wins Album of the Year at the 2019 JUNO AWARDS

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) andCBC took over Budweiser Gardens this evening for Canada's biggest awards night in music. The awards, hosted by Sarah McLachlan, were broadcast live on CBC, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, the free CBC Gem streaming service, and globally at cbcmusic.ca/junos. The highly anticipated event opened with London's own Loud Luxury who took the stage with an electrifying performance alongside the Western University Marching Band for their London homecoming.

Sono Luminus Releases Violinist Janet Sung's 'Edge of Youth'

Sono Luminus announces the April 26, 2019 worldwide release of Edge of Youth, the first album on the label from violinist Janet Sung, hailed by The Washington Post for her “riveting” playing and “exquisite tone.” Edge of Youth, with pianist William Wolfram, includes music for solo violin and violin and piano by Georges Enescu, Missy Mazzoli, Benjamin Britten, Dan Visconti, and Gabriel Prokofiev. The album was produced by Dan Merceruio and recorded, mixed and mastered by Daniel Shores, at Sono Luminus' world-class studio, located in a former church in Boyce, Virginia.

Houston Grand Opera Announces 2019-20 HGO Studio Artists

After an international search, Houston Grand Opera (HGO) is proud to announce the three new singers and one new pianists for the 2019 20 HGO Studio. One of the most respected and highly competitive young artist programs in the world, the HGO Studio provides comprehensive career development to young singers, pianist/coaches, and conductors who have demonstrated potential to make major contributions to the field of opera. Damon Gupton to Host NPR's 'From The Top'

From the Top, the nationwide program distributed by NPR that showcases young classically-trained musicians, has named actor and conductor Damon Gupton as Guest Host when the show records a new broadcast at Interlochen Center for the Arts on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 7:30 PM. 

2019 Salisbury Festival Marks Global Anniversaries

Gareth Machin, Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative, and Guest Festival Director Jonathan Dove today announce the programme for the 2019 Salisbury International Arts Festival (24 May to 9 June) which will mark two global anniversaries - the 1969 moon landings and the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall - with an ambitious mix of music, spoken word, film, dance, circus, theatre, comedy and family events.

In Celebration Of International Women's Day, DCINY Features All-female Choirs In Works Written For Female Voices

In celebration of International Women's Day, DCINY guest conductor Nancy Menk leads an orchestra and all-female choir in various choral works for women's voices. London Philharmonic Orchestra Announces 2019/20 Royal Festival Hall Season

The London Philharmonic Orchestra today announced its 2019/20 season at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, confirming its reputation for bold, creative and distinctive programming that continues to inspire audiences on a journey of exploration and adventure. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall since it opened in 1951, becoming Resident Orchestra there in 1992.

Pittance Chamber Music Presents EVENSONG WITH JAMES ONSTAD

Pittance Chamber Music, known for featuring the extraordinary resident artists of the Los Angeles Opera pit and stage, presents Evensong with James Onstad, an evening offering of beloved works by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Johannes Brahms, as part of Pittance Chamber Music's 5th Anniversary Season. TITANIC Will Embark on European Tour

Following the first ever UK & Ireland tour of Titanic The Musical in 2018, the production will return in 2019 for a European tour. After opening at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking on 11 July 2019, the production led by returning director Thom Southerland will tour across the continent until 1 September 2019.

Utah Symphony Announces 2019-20 Season

Music Director Thierry Fischer and President & CEO Paul Meecham today announced the Utah Symphony's 2019-20 season, with highlights including multimedia concert experiences featuring the twelve movements of Messiaen's Des canyons aux toiles (From the canyons to the stars), the release of Berlioz and Prokofiev recordings on the Hyperion Records and Reference Recordings respectively, and a celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday in 2020. Additional highlights include the return of American composer Andrew Norman to present three of his orchestral works and work with young Utah musicians in his second year as Composer-in-Association; a gala concert with violinist Joshua Bell celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Utah Symphony's first-ever performance, which took place on May 8, 1940; and a tribute to Hispanic Heritage that includes music by Latin-American composers conducted by guest artist Carlos Miguel Prieto. TSO Receives JUNO Nomination For Vaughan Williams: Orchestral Works

The recording of Vaughan Williams: Piano Concerto; Oboe Concerto; Serenade to Music; Flos Campi featuring the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) received a nomination for a JUNO Award in the Classical Album of the Year: Large Ensemble category.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Performs At The Auditorium This March

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Chicago March 6-10, commemorating the company's 60th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of its first performances at the Auditorium, its Chicago home.
