The Fifth Annual HARVARD/YALE CANTATA Announced At Feinstein's/54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, again presents a cast of Harvard and Yale grads in The Fifth Annual Harvard-Yale Cantata. Join us for a unique evening at Feinstein's/54 Below, with Team Harvard looking to avenge another lucky narrow victory by Team Yale. Will it be five wins in a row for Yale? Harvard has a new team captain and a new music director, and they promise a strong showing. Most of the contests in this series have been very close, and the teams are always well-matched and brimming with talent.

2019 JAW Playwrights Announced

This summer, the 21st Annual JAW: A Playwrights Festival brings three new plays to The Armory for two weeks of script workshopping that will culminate in the JAW Big Weekend, where public staged readings of the scripts will be presented along with performances from local artists and classes. This year's plays are What Are You Worth? by Kara Lee Korthron, an adaptation of Howards End by Caroline Hewitt, and Otto Frank by Roger Guenveur Smith.

Red Bull Theater Announces Selections for THE NINTH ANNUAL SHORT NEW PLAY FESTIVAL

Red Bull Theater today announced the selections for their ninth annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes, featuring two brand new commissions from Kia Corthron and Marcus Gardley, alongside six brand new plays that have been chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country: Kate Abbruzzese, Terry Glaser, Eric Pfeffinger, BrIdgette Dutta Portman, David Lerner Schwartz, Sofya Levitsky Weitz, and Matthew Wells.

Ethan Slater Returns To The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan For Rooftop Concert

Tony Award nominee, Ethan Slater, will return to the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan on Thursday, July 11 at 8 p.m. for a rooftop concert featuring his original music. Performed with a band of musical collaborators, the music is informed by Slater's influences, including Simon and Garfunkel, LCD Soundsystem, Broadway, and more. The unique concert is a chance to see your favorite Broadway star in a new and intimate way.

Adirondack Theatre's PB&J Café Presents ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Producing Artistic Director, Chad Rabinovitz, announces Adirondack Theatre Festival's PB&J Cafe: A Dinner Theatre for Kids will present Alice In Wonderland as part of the 2019 line-up. The show, presented for children 12 and under, runs June 25-28, and July 16-20 with both matinee and early evening performances. All performances will be at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Downtown Glens Falls, NY. The leading professional theatre in the Capital Region, ATF is dedicated to new plays and musicals, the season runs June 14 - August 9, 2019 with all performances at the Charles R. Wood Theater.

On Wednesday, July 17, award-winning author Liza Wieland visits The Music Hall Loft with her new novel PARIS, 7 A.M., a sweeping and stunning imagining of what happened to the poet Elizabeth Bishop during the weeks she spent in Paris amidst the imminent threat of World War II.

Corkscrew Theater Festival Announces Casting & Ticket Sales For Expanded Third Season

Corkscrew Theater Festival is pleased to announce the mainstage casts for its third annual festival, which runs July 10-August 3 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). The festival features four world premieres, four workshop productions, and four readings performed in repertory over four weeks, with 80 performances in all. As in past years, special attention has been given to theater makers who are developing work through tight-knit collaborations. Tickets are now on sale.

Philip Carlson To Join RLTP National Advisory Board

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) is excited to announce the addition of Philip Carlson to its National Advisory Board.  Mr. Carlson assisted RLTP this season in kicking off its Screen to Stage reading series. The organization is grateful for his involvement with the series and looks forward to working with him for seasons to come.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film announce the programming lineup for their upcoming 35th Powerhouse Season, the annual summer season that brings together some of today's most influential theatrical voices for fully-staged productions, workshop presentations, readings, and other works in progress for theater, film and television.

BWW Feature: A DAY OF ACTION - a Collaboration with the University Musical Society and Yo-Yo Ma!

The residents of Flint and Ann Arbor, Michigan were treated to a very special event because of the University Musical Society (UMS): Yo-Yo Ma visited as part the performer's two-year journey to perform Six Suites for Solo Cello as a catalyst for social action and it marks the first time Ma extended the model beyond the Bach Project to a broader audience. Ma's visit was two-days filled of activities including a talk by him in the University of Michigan's Hill Auditorium on 'Culture, Understanding, and Survival,' as well as a Day of Action in Flint, Michigan with the theme, 'Flint Voices: Culture, Community, and Resilience.' At the Day of Action, Ma worked with community partners to transform lives and forge both a more connected world and a healthy and vibrant local community with the goal of the session to find new opportunities for collaborations across Flint's cultural communities and organizations. The strategy session was followed up by a community cultural show that was a celebration of Flint's vitality, diversity, and artistry. BroadwayWorld Detroit had a chance to speak with two of people heavily involved in brining Yo-Yo Ma and his Day of Action event to Michigan - Jim Leija (director of education & community engagement for UMS) and Natasha Thomas-Jackson (Flint-based arts advocate). New York Neo-Furturists Welcome New Ensemble Members

This spring the award-winning New York Neo-Futurists are pleased to welcome four new performers to their ever growing and changing roster. Over the next five months, these performers will be joining the cast of The Infinite Wrench, a mechanism that unleashes a barrage of two-minute plays for a live audience, which performs every Friday and Saturday night at 10:30pm at Kraine Theater: 85 East 4th Street (btw 2nd & 3rd Ave). The news cast members are Gregory Lakhan (April 12), Michael John Improta (May 17), Yael Haskal (June) and Michaela Farrell (August 2).

Yale School Of Drama Announces Yale Design Showcase

YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA (James Bundy, Dean; Victoria Nolan, Deputy Dean) has announced the inaugural Yale Design Showcase, May 13-15 at 149 York Street, New Haven, Connecticut: an opportunity for theater professionals to visit the campus and meet the 2019 Class of scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and projection designers, and to see their work up close.

A Noise Within Presents Pay What You Can Performance Of OTHELLO On Valentine's Day!

A Noise Within (ANW), California's acclaimed classic repertory theatre, is proud to open its Spring 2019 season this weekend with one of the best-known tragic plays of all time, William Shakespeare's Othello. Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award winner Jessica Kubzansky will direct William Shakespeare's timeless classic, set in the present day, that will examine the consequences of love thwarted. Press opening night of Othello is this Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. and runs through April 28.

Casting Announced For One Year Lease's EAT THE DEVIL At The Tank

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with One Year Lease Theater Company (2018 Drama Desk nominee for Balls; 2016 Drama Desk nominne for please excuse my dear aunt sally) will present the World Premiere of Eat the Devil by Nadja Leonhard-Hooper (member of EST's Youngblood) and Dan Nuxoll (Brooklyn Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in Brooklyn Culture), directed by Nick Flint (BALLS with One Year Lease), at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).
