John Prine's new acoustic video for his song “Paradise,” featuring special guest Kelsey Waldon, premiered yesterday at Sounds Like Nashville. The song was recorded as part of the pair's new collaborative 7-inch vinyl, The Kentucky Sessions, which is included with each purchase of Waldon's new album White Noise/White Lines—out October 4 via Prine's independent label Oh Boy Records. 

The Calidore String Quartet celebrates its tenth anniversary and the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth by performing the complete Beethoven String Quartets at the University of Buffalo, University of Toronto and University of Delaware in concerts throughout the 2019-20 season. The Calidore will also take part in a complete cycle of Beethoven String Quartets at the Colburn School in Los Angeles where the quartet was founded.

On Friday, Sept. 13, famed dog behaviorist Cesar Millan debuted his new one-man show, Cesar Millan a?" My Story: Unleashed, inside the David Copperfield Theater at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. A tale of hope and heart, Millan took the audience on a gripping journey speaking about his humble beginnings in Mexico to becoming the most celebrated canine expert and imparting his wisdom and life lessons along the way. Bringing his authenticity and humor for which he is known, Millan and his pack of pets entertained the crowd during the never-before-seen world premiere.

John Prine won two awards at last night's Americana Music Association Honors & Awards: Album of the Year (The Tree of Forgiveness) and Song of the Year (“Summer's End” written by Prine and Pat McLaughlin). The reigning 2017 and 2018 Americana Artist of the Year, Prine also performed “Angel From Montgomery” with Bonnie Raitt during last night's ceremony.

Today, THE FLAMING LIPS release a brand new video for the track “Giant Baby” from the universally acclaimed Warner Records album King's Mouth: Music And Songs.  The video was filmed in Oklahoma City and Los Angeles, directed by Wayne Coyne and features a cameo by their long-time friend Fred Armisen. “Giant Baby” is perhaps the most lyrically poignant and personal song from the album but visually, the Lips still convey raw emotion in the most vivid and surreal way imaginable.

The Discovery Orchestra (the Orchestra) will kick off its 33rd season with Discover The Firebird, an interactive concert taped for national broadcast, on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 2:45 PM to 4:30 PM ET at the Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey. Over 500 audience members will have a chance to be part of the taping for national broadcast while they are simultaneously led through three movements of Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. Discover The Firebird will be nationally distributed by American Public Television beginning in the spring of 2020 and will mark the Orchestra's fifth public television program.

Sullivan King, the one-half metal, one-half bass music artistic creation of Keaton Prescott, will embark on an international tour through the end of  2019 and into early 2020. The tour will include performances at Electric Zoo, Lost Lands, and Imagine Festival, as well as stops in Australia, China, and New Zealand. Tickets will go on-sale on Tuesday, September 3rd, with pre-sales going live August 30th. 

Deadline reports that rapper-turned-actor Cliff “Method Man” Smith will star in action-thriller 'Waldo' alongside Mel Gibson and Charlie Hunnam. He'll also play a role in 'Concrete Cowboys,' with Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin.

Director Leslie Martinson of THE 39 STEPS at TheatreWorks talks about finding the comedic rhythms in a 'nutball farce' and shares her experiences as a casting director. Martinson has been a TheatreWorks mainstay for decades, starting as an usher while she was still in school, then working as an actor before becoming a director and casting director. She left her staff position 18 months ago to go freelance, but has since directed two shows at TheatreWorks so still maintains a close working relationship with the Tony-winning company.
