Billy Porter will be back in New Orleans for his fourth year co-hosting New Year's Rockin' Eve. BroadwayWorld caught up with Porter to discuss what audiences can expect from this year's countdown. The follow-up to his viral smash hit Be More Chill which made its Broadway bow this spring, Broadway Bounty Hunter features music and lyrics by two-time Drama Desk Award nominee Joe Iconis ('Smash', The Black Suits, Bloodsong of Love at Ars Nova), who also co-wrote the book with Lance Rubin (Denton Little's Deathdate), and Jason SweetTooth Williams (Be More Chill). Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Werner (The Book of Mormon Supervising Associate Director), Broadway Bounty Hunter begins previews Tuesday, July 9, 2019, with an official opening night of Tuesday, July 23, for a limited engagement of ten weeks through Sunday, September 15.

Last night, Bloomberg Businessweek hosted a celebration of this year's Bloomberg 50, its annual list honoring 50 icons and innovators who have changed the global business landscape in measurable ways over the past year. The event took place at Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York. Aasif Mandvi was the Master of Ceremonies and there was a special musical performance by Megan Hilty.

According to a casting notice, the world premiere of The Royal Family of Broadway at Barrington Stage Company will be lead by Harriet Harris as Fanny, Will Swenson as Tony, and Kathy Fitzgerald as Kitty. The notice also listed Arnie Burton as Bert, Chip Zien as Oscar, Hayley Podschun as Gwen, AJ Shively as Perry, and Alan H. Green as Gil. The role of Julie has not yet been cast.

Last night, Michael R. Bloomberg hosted a gala dinner at Gotham Hall celebrating this year's Bloomberg 50, a new, annual, initiative honoring 50 icons and innovators who have changed the global business landscape in measurable ways over the past year. MCC Theater today announced the complete cast and creative team for Charise Castro Smith's El Hurac n, the second of the 2017 PlayLabs readings, which will be held tonight, Monday, September 25th at 7pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

The Old Globe presents the first show of its 2017-2018 Season, the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein. Based on the beloved 1993 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture written by Barry Berman and Leslie McNeil, Benny & Joon is directed by Jack Cummings III, Artistic Director of New York's Transport Group.
