Tickets are on sale this week for the Adelaide season of the 20th Anniversary Broadway production of Hairspray.

TheaterWorks Hartford, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, has announced details for its upcoming 2022–2023 season which is filled with great music, captivating stories, and world-class writing.

Twenty years ago, a group of Walt Disney World cast members decided they wanted to put their talents to good use beyond their roles within the theme parks. Inspired by an Andrew Lloyd Webber 'Birthday Concert' in which stars got together to celebrate the acclaimed composer, they likewise set out to create a concert setting - all on their own time and dime - to help benefit the Central Florida community they call home. What began as a contingent of nearly seventy players has expanded and grown over the next two decades as hundreds of members come and go at their leisure, based upon the time they can give and the talent they can share. In a world filled with uncertainty and strife, it's a blessing that something as inherently good and selfless as Encore! Performing Arts continues to thrive.

The Comeback Trail, a love letter to the Golden Age of Hollywood, starring Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, Zach Braff, Emile Hirsch, Eddie Griffin and Morgan Freeman and was co-written by Josh Posner and the film’s director George Gallo (Bad Boys, Midnight Run, Vanquish). The film has been released internationally and a US release date is coming.

The full cast has been announced for the 40th Anniversary tour of Michael Frayn’s multi award-winning farce, Noises Off, which will visit Theatre Royal Brighton from Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 October 2022.

The San Jose Stage Company has announced the cast and creative team for The Play That Goes Wrong, the first production of MILESTONE: The 40th Anniversary Season. The madcap hit from Broadway and the West End, written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, will be directed by Jon Tracy.

he show will run in the Howard Drew Theatre through September 18 with performances Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $36, with prices varying by performance.

Hairspray is back and this time it's the original Broadway version of the musical! Having grown up listening to the original Broadway cast album, it was a sheer delight for a theatre nerd like me to see the original version of Hairspray here in Australia. Seeing this production's opening night performance which coincided exactly 20 years from Hairspray's Broadway premiere was also a big fat cherry on the top! While some elements of the original version do now feel slightly dated and some of this production's casting choices don't always allow Hairspray's vibrant characters to shine as brightly as one would like, you can't deny that this show is just so much fun. From the moment the show opens with 'Good Morning Baltimore' to the standing ovation worthy finale of 'You Can't Stop The Beat', Hairspray will put a smile on your face and have you dancing in your seat.
