Broadway shined brighter last night with the arrival of Meteor Shower, which officially opened at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th St.). Meteor Shower stars Emmy Award winners Amy Schumer and Keegan-Michael Key, both in their Broadway debut, Tony Award winner Laura Benanti, Tony Award nominee Jeremy Shamos, and is directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks.
It was a reunion for two of the lead actors from Broadway's On the Town when Tony-nominee Tony Yazbeck visited New Hope, PA to see Clyde Alves at Bucks County Playhouse. Alves plays the role of Tago in the world premiere of The New World , the musical comedy that is getting raves from critics. John Timpane of the Philadelphia Inquirer said With sneaky brilliance, beginning to end, The New World is fresh, funny, and fluid. On Saturday, January 13, 2018, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) will honor Tarell Alvin McCraney - Academy Award-winning playwright, 1999 YoungArts Winner in Theater and YoungArts master teacher - with the 2018 Arison Alumni Award at the organization's annual Backyard Ball on the YoungArts Campus (2100 Biscayne Boulevard).

On Monday, October 2, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan. Jeremy Jordan made his Broadway debut in 2009's ROCK OF AGES. He went on to play the Tony alternate, appearing twice per week, in the 2009 revival of WEST SIDE STORY. In 2011 he originated the role of Clyde Barrow in BONNIE AND CLYDE. The Broadway premiere of Prince of Broadway, a musical celebration that highlights the extraordinary six-decade career of director and producer Harold Prince, will now play through Sunday, October 29 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre due to popular demand. This limited engagement, which began previews August 3 and opened August 24, is produced by Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer), by special arrangement with Gorgeous Entertainment.
