The 5th Avenue Theatre is announcing a change in its 2019/20 season lineup. The world premiere of an original new musical, Bliss, will replace the previously announced Stu for Silverton in early 2020. Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry said, "Even though we do not like to make changes after we have announced our season, we are very proud of the hundreds of thousands of audience members who come to The 5th each year and understand that this is sometimes part of the process of being one of the leading theaters in the country producing new musicals."

The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Bandstand, will launch its first national tour this fall. Originally directed and choreographed by three-time Tony winner and Hamilton choreographer, Andy Blankenbuehler, this poignant and inspiring new American musical explodes with infectious music and high-octane, heart-stopping dancing.

Broadway Records and Yellow Sound Label announces that Bandstand (Original Broadway Cast Recording) is now streaming on Spotify, to coincide with Fathom's two-night encore in cinemas.

Due to the success of the initial theatrical release, Fathom Events is bringing "BANDSTAND: The Broadway Musical on Screen" back to cinemas nationwide on November 15 and 19 in celebration of Veterans Day. The high-octane performance of Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor's Broadway musical, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), will once again have audiences dancing in their movie theater seats. In addition to the feature content, audiences will enjoy behind-the-scenes footage of the production.

'A Blanket of Dust' is the story of a modern day Antigone.  The daughter of a U.S. Senator seeks justice for her husband, who has died in the World Trade Center. Her ordeal drives her to the outer fringes of society.  After struggling to establish facts that the government, the media, her family and her countrymen deny, she protests with a harrowing act of sacrificial tragedy.  The play's world premiere will be presented Off-Broadway by Delphi Film from June 6 to 30 at The Flea Theater Mainstage,  20 Thomas Street, directed by Chris Murrah.

The eight performance runs starts on January 21, 2018 at Pierce Auditorium, located at 15430 Kercheval Ave, Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230. Parking is free. Complementary valet is available. Simon Jones (The Real Thing, Benefactors), will join the cast of the Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING on Tuesday, January 9, playing the role of opera impresario John Rich. Colin Hurley, who was scheduled for a limited run in the role, will play his final performance as John Rich on Sunday, January 7.
