Tickets go on sale this Friday 14th February for the Australian premiere season of BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical. The production will welcome audiences for the first time on Australian soil at the Sydney Lyric.

Television and film have always encapsulated my attention with a fervor. The imprint left by action movies from a bygone era still burn with a certain reverence. It is no secret that the culture of today seems to thrive on nostalgia which is why we see so many theatrical productions having made their way from the screen to the stage.

A global search is underway for the next Marty McFly, to celebrate the numerous productions of BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical worldwide. Plus, Caden Brauch will join the West End cast as Marty McFly from Monday 10 February 2025.

Lucas Hallauer will assume the role of Marty McFly in the North American Tour of BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical in Denver, CO. Caden Brauch will play his final tour performance as Marty McFly in Denver.

Yann Martel is noted for his ability to write tales filled with adventure, survival and spirituality.  His novel, LIFE OF PI, sold more than 15 million copies and won numerous awards. The novel has been translated into a film and now a stage play by Lolita Chakrabarti.  It is on stage at the Connor Palace Theatre, as part of the Key Bank Broadway Series.

Casting has been announced for the RSC’s forthcoming production of Christopher Marlowe’s rarely performed tragedy, Edward II, which runs in the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon.

A riotous, mostly silly, but also sometimes laughably odd theatrical entity, this touring production of this enjoyable, endearingly-familiar stage musical adaptation of the hit 1985 sci-fi comedy is definitely a fun time—but mostly due to its visual wow factor. For those who cherish the original film, the musical is a delightful tribute. For newcomers or those seeking a deeper narrative experience, it's an entertaining-enough spectacle.

When I first learned about the movie Life of Pi, I confess I was less than curious, having neither heard of nor read the book. Several years later, when it was adapted into a movie and then a Broadway play—with stops along the way in London’s West End, where it racked up a slew of Olivier Awards (the British equivalent of our Tonys)—I became much more intrigued.

Mike Bindeman will join the North American Tour of BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical as George McFly. Bindeman will assume the role in January as Burke Swanson departs the company. 

The original Olivier and Tony Award-winning production of Life of Pi opens tonight at the Grand Theatre in Mumbai’s state-of-the-art Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.
