Join Can Can Productions for their 16th annual Halloween extravaganza, This Is Halloween, at the Triple Door in Seattle. Experience a dark fantasy burlesque musical inspired by Tim Burton's classic, featuring live orchestral music, cabaret, and innovative visual installations.

The City of Fairfax Theatre Company is bringing the awe-inspiring Broadway musical, Big Fish, based on the Tim Burton movie, to the stage at Katherine Johnson Middle School July 21-29. The musical was written by John August with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. It premiered on Broadway in 2013 and features larger-than-life characters, production numbers, special effects, and performances.

It's showtime! The Fabulous Fox Theatre has announced that single tickets for the North American Tour of BEETLEJUICE, the edgy and irreverent Broadway smash hit musical comedy, will go on sale Monday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m.

As Gay Pride celebrations continue during the month of June, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) is presenting the Los Angeles Premiere of Disney PRIDE in Concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. In Disney Concerts’ first-ever choral production, Disney’s beloved songs will be reimagined in a celebration of Pride featuring 200 Chorus members performing nearly 50 classic Disney songs, with a 25-piece orchestra and stunning video projections. I interviewed Lou Spisto, Executive Director & Producer of GMCLA about the origination of the concert, how the Disney songs were chosen, and how the subjects of inclusion and acceptance will be represented.

Havanna will be preparing to release the accompanying music video. Directed by Éli Sokhn, Produced by Laith Souqi, and Creative Direction by Anette Winter. The video takes the viewer back to the visually appealing movie, The Wizard of Oz, equipped with Dorothy (played by Havanna) and her friends on the yellow brick road.

Big Fish at Austin Playhouse is a beautiful production that should not be missed. It explores themes of family, love, and the power of storytelling, all brought to life by a talented cast and creative team. Catch this enchanting show before it closes on July 2nd, 2023.

Musical Theatre Southwest delivers a knockout performance of SWEENEY TODD. Most of us are familiar with one version or another of Stephen Sondheim’s dark masterpiece, Sweeney Todd. Full disclosure: in my youth I used to watch the Angela Lansbury/George Hearn proshot on loop and I will go to just about any stage production out there but I do approach community productions with a bit of trepidation.

Cosplay Records – the music label of Central Florida strings super-group Violectric – announce the signing of their newest esteemed artist “The Disney Violinist” Robert Kerr.  Kerr has teamed up with Cosplay to produce his debut album, which will feature twelve of his classical string quartet arrangements of music from his favorite Disney movies, performed with fellow Disney string musicians.
