New York Theatre Workshop has announced the artists selected for the 2023/24 Season 2050 Artistic Fellowship.

The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County will honor Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward with a special President's Award in recognition of their significant impact on arts, culture, children's education and illness, and environmental preservation in Fairfield County.

In the musical theater world, there are classics and then there are Classics (with the big “C”). Jerry Herman’s “Hello, Dolly!” is certainly a big “C” Classic and I’m here to fight anyone who says different. It’s a delicious throwback to the Golden Age of musicals and certainly a star vehicle for the right star. And speaking of the right star, the current production of “Dolly”, currently playing at Village Theatre, shows just how good this Classic can be with the incredible Bobbi Kotula in the title role who proves that she’s not a star, but a Star!

IN Series Opera has announced its 2023-24 season, “Resurrection,” with five innovative productions that continue to push the boundaries of music, theater, and drama. The season opens on September 23.

The Pulitzer Prize Board has just announced that English, by Sanaz Toossi has won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other finalists included: On Sugarland by Aleshea Harris and The Far Country by Lloyd Suh.

A landmark in American drama, Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town tells the story of a small town, Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, in order to tell us the story of every town, the whole world over. Narrated by the “Stage Manager”, we follow the Gibbs and Webb families, residents of Grover’s Corners, through twelve years of life changes -- from the mundane in Act I, “Daily Life,” to the romantic in Act II, “Love and Marriage,” to the devastating in Act III, “Death and Eternity.” Through the young lovers Emily and George, their strong and loving parents, and the many other Grover’s Corners’ locals, Wilder delivers universal truths about what it means to be human. “Oh, earth,” Emily Webb exclaims towards the play’s end, “you’re too wonderful for anyone to realize you.” With humor, wit, and exceptionally powerful storytelling, Our Town offers a unique opportunity for audience members to make precisely that realization. Los Alto Stage Company hosted a Season Announcement event on Wednesday, May 2, to introduce its 2023-2024 (29th) Season of five plays and musicals, continuing its proud tradition of presenting bold, entertaining, and thought-provoking theatre.

Yardley Players will celebrate the golden age of the American musical at Kelsey Theatre with the comedic masterpiece 'Hello, Dolly!' The show runs weekends from Friday, April 28 through Sunday, May 7 with matinee and evening performances. Kelsey Theatre is located at 1200 Old Trenton Road on the Mercer County Community College campus in West Windsor.
