'20 YEARS OF DOGME 95' Cinema Series Launches Tonight at MAD

This month, the Museum of Arts and Design is pleased to present The Director Must Not Be Credited: 20 Years of Dogme 95, a cinema series exploring the enduring legacy of the game-changing film movement. Premiering tonight, March 13, 2015, the twentieth anniversary of Danish filmmakers Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg's revolutionary manifesto, the series features nine, rarely screened films recognized by the Dogme 95 committee --many of which never received US distributions. Together, these films highlight the growth of Dogme 95 into a worldwide movement that spanned genres and forever changed the ways in which narrative feature films are made.

Sundance Institute and Mahindra today announced the winners of the 2014 Sundance Institute | Mahindra Global Filmmaking Award, in recognition and support of emerging independent filmmakers from around the world. The winning directors and projects are Hong Khaou, MONSOON from Vietnam/UK; Tobias Lindholm, A WAR from Denmark; Ashlee Page, ARCHIVE from Australia; and Neeraj Ghaywan, FLY AWAY SOLO from India.

WHBPAC Extends FINEST IN WORLD CINEMA Series Into Fall 2013

The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center has extended its 'Rose & Don Ciampa Finest in World Cinema' Series into fall! Featuring its brand new digital cinema projection system, the WHBPAC will screen only the best current release art house, foreign, independent and documentary films that run concurrently at the most prominent film houses in New York City. The new schedule for fall films is Today at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 4pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for students/seniors, and $5 for WHBPAC Film Society members.
