Palo Alto Players Presents A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 Beginning January 17

Palo Alto Players continues its 2019-20 season with A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2, playwright  Lucas Hnath's 2017 Tony-nominated stand-alone sequel to the Ibsen classic. Picking up 15 years after the final scene of Ibsen's revolutionary play, in which Nora slammed the door on her marriage and children, A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 imagines the aftermath of Nora's infamous exit.

The Drama League Announces The Acting Company for DirectorFest 2020

The Drama League (Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Director Bevin Ross) announced today the acting company for the 36th annual DirectorFest, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. Directorfest will take place January 10 - February 4, 2020 at various locations around NYC: The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), The Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas), LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (31-10 Thomson Avenue), and Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). Fresh Fruit Festival Names Dennis Corsi As New Artistic Director

The Fresh Fruit Festival - one of New York city's most visible and acclaimed LGBTQ arts organizations - encompassing theater, performance, poetry, comedy, spoken word, music, dance, visual arts and other artistic expressions, has chosen its new artistic director. The Fresh Fruit Festival is presented by All Out Arts to celebrate the LGBTQ community's unique perspective, creativity & diversity, and to build links between the LGBTQ artistic communities - local or international.

Casting Set for Dominique Morisseau's PIPELINE at Studio Theatre

Casting is set for Studio Theatre's production of Pipeline, playwright Dominique Morisseau's searing drama about the school-to-prison pipeline and a mother desperately trying to keep her son from becoming ensnared in it. The production runs January 15-February 16, 2020 and is directed by Awoye Timpo. Starring are DC theatre favorite Justin Weaks (Studio's Curve of Departure) as high school student Omari and Andrea Harris Smith making her Studio debut as his mother, public school teacher Nya. In its recent People Issue, Washington City Paper's called Weaks a 'standout,' going on to say: 'D.C. theater audiences love Justin Weaks. ...Weaks came to D.C. for a job about four years ago, not expecting to stay. But he kept getting cast in shows, and lucky for local theatergoers, he's still here.'
