Negro Ensemble to Revive A SOLDIER'S PLAY as Part of 50th Season

For its 50th season, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. (NEC) has been presenting a retrospective of some of the troupe's signature works. The culminating event of this landmark season will be NEC's most famous and successful production, 'A Soldier's Play' by Charles Fuller, which NEC first presented in 1981 at Theatre Four.

Cleveland Play House today announced the new CPH Theatre Academy, an ambitious lineup of educational classes being offered to the public, including an updated variation of the renowned youth theatre troupe, the Curtain Pullers.

BIG GAY ITALIAN Trilogy Picked up in Atlantic City!

Anthony J. Wilkinson's Big Gay Italian Trilogy, which have all played at different times Off-Broadway since 2003, has been picked up by Resorts Casino and will play this summer in the 1350 seat Superstar Theater.  "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" will play June 30, 2017, "My Big Gay Italian Funeral" will play July 28, 2017, and "My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis" will play September 1, 2017 all at 9pm.

The season will include three more productions at Theatre 80 St. Marks and one at La MaMa.

Williamston Theatre Presents DARK NIGHTS IN BILLTOWN, Now thru 11/15

Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, continues their theatrical experience in 'found spaces' (rooms that are not traditional theatre spaces), Dark Nights in Billtown. This season there will be two rounds of Dark Nights. The first round runs tonight, November 13 - 15 with a trio of new plays.

Liberace Musical ALL THAT GLITTERS, Starring Richard Kline, Aims for Broadway in 2014-15; Eyes Fall 2014 Debut in Toronto

'ALL THAT GLITTERS', an unauthorized biography of a ground-breaking legend, an opulent musical event about the greatest showman on earth is on its way to Broadway for the 2014-15 season, directed and choreographed by Alexander DeJong. The show features Music and Lyrics by Mr. DeJong, Book by Mr. DeJong and James A. Walsh, and Additional Music by Tom Nelson. The show will star Richard Kline as Wladziu Valentino Liberace.

Red Rose Chain Takes on Anne Boleyn and Tower of London in FALLEN IN LOVE, Now thru June 16

Leading Suffolk theatre company Red Rose Chain bring Fallen in Love, the story of Anne Boleyn's incestuous relationship with her brother to the site of Anne's trial, execution and final resting place, the Tower of London. This unique theatrical event runs from May 17 to June 16 and will be performed in the Banqueting Suite of the New Armouries. Written and directed by Red Rose Chain's founder and director, Joanna Carrick, this is a story of love, betrayal, jealousy and treason.

Ken Davenport of Davenport Theatrical Enterprises presented a reading of the new play Schooled, written by Lisa Lewis and directed by Jules Ochoa, as part of the Davenport Developmental Reading Series. Schooled stars Tony nominee Peter Friedman (Playwrights Horizon's Circle Mirror Transformation), Sarah Steele (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's Slowgirl), Harry Zittel (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's All-American) and Zoe Winters (Lincoln Center Theatre/LCT3's 4000 Miles). The reading took place on Monday, December 3rd at The Davenport Studios, located at 250 West 49th Street, Suite 304, in New York City. Check out photos from the reading below!
