The Season News

This week for the award show series, I look at two award shows that do not consider Broadway: the Lucille Lortel Awards and the Obie Awards.

Pacific Symphony has announced its 2024-25 Pops Series. The season features seven not-to-be-missed pops concerts that include music from Broadway, festive holiday cheer, classic rock, and Latin flair—all enhanced by the “Hollywood” sound of the orchestra.

Transcendence Theatre Company has announced the creative teams for its 2024 summer season, Broadway in Sonoma. California Wine Country's award-winning premiere entertainment experience will bring incredible, award-winning talent to Sonoma for a summer of outstanding outdoor performances just steps from historic downtown Sonoma. Each production is developed by an experienced artistic team that includes newer artists who have joined Transcendence in recent years and long-standing members who have returned to Sonoma for over a decade. 

Door Shakespeare have announced that tickets are available for the 2024 summer season, including two shows running in alternating repertory: William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and Jane Austen's Emma, adapted by Joseph Hanreddy.

Straz Center's Opera Tampa has announced its 2025 season featuring the work of Leonard Bernstein, Gaetano Donizetti and Giacomo Puccini.

The Fall 2024 Season at the Staller Center includes an extensive assortment of astounding artists and performances, including countless musicians, comedy, jazz, dance performances, and family experiences.

2:22 - A Ghost Story will return to London's West End. Running for a strictly limited 10-week season at the Gielgud Theatre, where the second cast of the show performed in 2020/21.
