The English National Opera's (ENO) spring season opens this February with the return of Calixto Bieito's fiery Carmen to the London Coliseum. Its third revival since it was first staged in 2012, this is one of the most popular operas ever written, featuring Bizet's instantly recognisable searing score. 

Sydney Festival's high-summer program of spectacular art and culture lands in the city from tomorrow, 5 January, with an expansive line-up of touring artists, world premiere works, new commissions, Australian exclusives, local talent and an extensive free events program.

New York City Ballet’s 2023 Winter Season – January 17 through February 26 – will feature performances of 17 ballets performed by New York City Ballet’s 100 dancers and apprentices and the 62-piece New York City Ballet Orchestra.

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the organization will host its annual Pride Night, powered by Xcel Energy on Wednesday, Jan. 4 when the Timberwolves host the Portland Trail Blazers at Target Center (tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. CT). The celebratory evening will include in-game entertainment and recognition of organizations who support the LGBTQ+ community.

The “Orange Is the New Black” Complete Series Collection contains every episode of the four-time Primetime Emmy® winner and its story of Piper Chapman, a public relations executive with a career, a fiancé – and a wild past involving a suitcase full of drug money. Sentenced to a federal women’s penitentiary, Piper slowly adjusts to her new reality.

TampaRep's second show this season will play throughout February at the Hillsborough Community College Ybor Campus in the Performing Arts Building.

The centerpiece of SCR's 2022-23 season, 'Voices of America,' runs Jan. 28-Feb. 26 on the Segerstrom Stage. It encompasses both plays. Each play will take the stage four times a week, alternating performances. On Saturdays and Sundays, both plays will run-one in the afternoon, the other in the evening. That means theatregoers can see both in the same day. Tickets are available at scr.org.

Clue, the classic whodunit farce, kicks off Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre's 50th anniversary season. The mystery show takes the famous board game and film and turns it into a play. Each character is given a weapon and a motive and the murders begin. Eddie Curry directs the fast-paced production and keeps the actors as close to their movie counterparts as possible. 

This is not a “Best Of” list because it isn’t for me to say what is best, only what resonated with me, but after a lot, a lot, a lot of shows, this New Year's Eve, these shows are still on my mind.

The title track THE BESTEST OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY EVER is a darkish comedy number about the worker bees in an adult diaper factory at the office Xmas party, and all the humiliating things they must do for that Christmas bonus.

During the week of Dec. 12, 2022, Monday’s broadcast of “Tamron Hall” (on 12/12/22) marked the show’s highest-rated telecast on any day since May 2021 in Households (0.9 rating) – since Friday, 5/14/21. Monday was also the show’s 2nd-most-watched of the season (1.222 million Total Viewers).

Tuesday’s telecast of “Live with Kelly and Ryan” (on 12/13/21) marked the show’s strongest telecast  on any day in Total Viewers (2.753 million) and Women 25-54 (0.8 rating) since its post-Oscars® special in March – since Monday, 3/28/22. In addition, Tuesday’s broadcast tied a single-day season high in Households (1.8 rating).

Pa'lante Theater Company, Waterbury, Connecticut's newest performing arts collaborative, has announced their inaugural 2023 season and collaboration agreement with legendary Theater Company - Seven Angels Theatre.

ROADSHOW kicks off the season on a high note in Woodside, CA with a rare 1960s viola that was purchased directly from renowned maker Ansaldo Poggi in a moment of happenstance during a trip to Italy.  After years of playing, the guest is shocked to learn the instrument is one of only 41 made.
