Kicking off their exciting 33rd season, the Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) offers a stellar production of Joe DiPietro's hit off-Broadway comedy Clever Little Lies. We certainly need a good laugh in these worrisome times and the outstanding cast of HTC vets deliver resoundingly. Excellently directed by Andrew Botsford, the show runs until November 12th at the adorable Quogue venue.

The cast has been announced for Alan Ayckbourn's trilogy THE NORMAN CONQUESTS, which - in a first for Chichester Festival Theatre - will be staged in-the-round.

Following its acclaimed run off-Broadway at the Public Theater, Sweat has at last arrived at Studio 54, marking the Broadway debut of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage. After the curtain went down last night, the ensemble company, joined by Nottage and director Kate Whoriskey,  gathered at Brasserie 8 ½ to celebrate the play's explosive arrival on Broadway. Today's big news: A BRONX TALE: THE MUSICAL opens tonight on Broadway!

Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway debut of August Wilson's Jitney, directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson (The Piano Lesson, Seven Guitars, Gem of the Ocean), will begin previews Wednesday, December 28 ahead of a Thursday, January 19 opening night at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA announces the retirement of Professor Adjunct Edward A. Martenson, Chair of the Theater Management Department, effective June 30, 2017, and the appointment of Professor Adjunct Joan Channick, who currently serves as Associate Dean, as the new Chair, effective July 1, 2017.

Skinner's futuristic drama combines issues of climate change, privilege, women having control of their bodies and putting up walls,

Austin Durant, Reggie Gowland, Chris Myers, Rachel Nicks, Michele Shay, Lance Coadie Williams, and Charlayne Woodard will be featured in the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of WAR by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz.  WAR will begin performances Saturday, May 21; open Monday, June 6; and run for six weeks only through Sunday, July 3 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65th Street). 

New work by Lee Hall, David Hare, Bryony Kimmings, Lucy Kirkwood, Nina Raine, Gillian Slovo and Alexander Zeldin, and contemporary revivals of two of the NT's most celebrated 20th century premieres - Amadeus and Angels in America - are among the forthcoming productions at the National Theatre announced today by Rufus Norris.

The Theatre Project is remounting their hit production of The Mystery of Irma Vep after a one month hiatus. TP&co, the ensemble company of The Theatre Project, extends the campy, culty comedy for a strictly limited engagement this January. The Mystery of Irma Vep will resume performances at the historic Players Theatre in the heart of Greenwich Village from January 8 through January 29, 2016.

TP&co, the ensemble company of The Theatre Project, revives the campy, creepy comedy for a strictly limited engagement this fall. THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP will take the stage of the historic Players Theatre in the heart of Greenwich Village from tonight, November 12, through November 21, 2015.

The old English play An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestley has had an interesting, long journey. It was first performed in 1945 and then in the UK in 1946 with an opening on Broadway in 1947 that was, strangely, dubbed as "stale". Over time, interestingly, it has become very successful even winning a couple of Tony awards for its 1994 Broadway revival. You will see why as The Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) has mounted a brilliant production of this riveting story.

Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's SPRING AWAKENING, directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff, opened on Sunday night, September 27, at Broadway's Brooks AtkinsonTheatre. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the whole evening, starting with the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony. Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Andre Bishop) has announced the upcoming productions of three new plays during its 2015 - 2016 season, BroadwayWorld has learned.

Originally seen at the Union Theatre in 2009, Sasha Regan's acclaimed all-male production of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance will return for its first UK Tour, opening at Richmond Theatre on Wednesday 15 April 2015, with a press night on Thursday 16 April 2015.

Manhattan Concert Productions is bringing the Drama Desk and Tony Award-winning score of PARADE back to Lincoln Center, where it all began in 1998. This concert performance of PARADE will feature a chorus of over 200 singers from the across the United States; the enlarged forces of the New York City Chamber Orchestra; and a full professional Broadway cast.
