Hip-Hop Dance Duo THE WONDERTWINS Open Autorino Center 2019-2020 Season

The Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph kicks off the performing arts center's 2019-2020 season with the hip-hop dance duo The Wondertwins' newest show, BLACK. The performance is Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available as part of the Autorino Center's Pay-It-Forward program, where audience members decide what, if anything, they would like to pay.

Today, William Marovitz and Arny Granat, co-producers of the production, are thrilled to announce that MIRACLE has been nominated for a 2019 Equity Jeff Award in the a?oeNew Work- Musicala?? category. Now playing at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 North Halsted, MIRACLE is providing Chicago Cubs fans and theatregoers a final opportunity to relive the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series win.

Apollo Theater Presents Common For One Night Only

The Apollo Theater today announced that Emmy, GRAMMY, and Oscar-winning rapper, actor, activist, and best-selling author Common will perform at the Theater, for a special one-night only show as part of the Apollo's Fall 2019 season. The concert, featuring new music from his latest studio album Let Love, will showcase Common's own unique style and personal stories of the people and experiences that have led to a greater understanding of love and all it has to offer.

Today internationally revered rock band Guns N' Roses announced the special guests appearing on their enduring and monumental Not In This Lifetime Tour, revving back up on September 25th. Bishop Gunn, Blackberry Smoke, Dirty Honey, Shooter Jennings, and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown will open for GNR on select dates throughout the fall run.

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre (NBT) announces its 2019-2020 season, a?oeSOUL Journey: NBT Beyond Walls.a?? In preparation for the redevelopment project of its current site, National Black Theatre continues its program NBT Beyond Walls. Established during the 50th season, NBT Beyond Walls is an opportunity to harness NBT's legacy, pedagogy, and commitment to Black artistry and share it with other institutions around the world. Highlights of the 51st season include a record-setting number of partnerships for NBT including Apollo Theater, The Bushwick Starr, Carnegie Hall, New York University Tisch Department of Drama, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. NBT will present eight productions this season including several commissions and the two workshop productions from NBT's current I AM SOUL Playwright Residents.
