Ian Belknap, Artistic Director of The Acting Company, to Step Down at the End of the Year

Ian Belknap is leaving The Acting Company, on December 31, 2021, having served as its Artistic Director for the past ten years, to pursue new creative opportunities.  “The Acting Company turns 50 in 2022. It’s a good time for an influx of new energy and to give myself a new challenge,' said Belknap, Artistic Director of TAC.

The Eternal Ego Festival Announced

The new programming venture will showcase nine conceptual adaptations of multi-character works, in which all roles will be played by a single actor, and in two cases by two actors, using in-person, virtual or hybrid platforms. Works will premiere gradually over the next two seasons, alongside TIFT’s regular scope of programming.

MUSE Will Be Performed by The Acting Company Next Week

The Acting Company today announces they will continue their Alumni Spotlight virtual programming series by producing a reading of Muse, a new play by Acting Company alum and Broadway mainstay Tom Alan Robbins.

Westport Country Playhouse Presents RENT CONTROL Virtual Play Reading

Westport Country Playhouse will present a virtual Script in Hand playreading of “Rent Control,” the Off-Broadway hit comedy based on the true story of a struggling-to-survive actor in New York City who invents a moneymaking scheme that backfires. 

New Federal Theatre Announces Virtual Reading of WINDOWS by Mfundi Vundla

 As part of 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Black History Month,' Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre is offering a live streaming virtual reading of 'Widows' by Mfundi Vundla on February 27 at 7:00 PM. The reading will be available on-demand through March 1. 

2021 Drama League Awards to be Pre-Recorded and Streamed on May 21

The Drama League will present the 87th Drama League Awards, which will be pre-recorded and streamed on May 21, 2021. The nomination process, which will focus on extraordinary digital theatrical productions during the shutdown of live performance and identifying individuals and organizations that made an impact in the last year, is currently underway.

Art House Productions has announced their first audio play, Black Tom Island by Martin Casella available starting Monday, January 18 at 10:00am EST.
