Liz Mikel Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Dallas Theater Center

Dallas Theater Center (DTC) celebrates 30 years with one of the city's most talented actors, Liz Mikel. She made her debut on the DTC mainstage in 1991, appearing in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Since then, Mikel has been featured in multiple DTC productions and currently features in Cake Ladies at the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre as Tweedy-Bird, a character written specifically for her.

Kathryn Posin Receives Major Grant and Gives Free NoHo Performance

Company member Daniel White will perform Touch Me by Gerald Arpino. Company members Claire Mazza and Alejandro Ulloa will present their duet Through You, and Posin will present an excerpt from her latest work Triple Sextet to Steve Reich's Pulitzer Prize-winning Double Sextet.  

The Rep to Honor Late Artistic Director Steven Woolf at Public Memorial

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) will honor the life and legacy of longtime esteemed artistic director Steven Woolf in a special public memorial, Remembering Steven - Celebrating A Life in the Theatre, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. on The Mainstage at the Loretto-Hilton Center.

Ford's Theatre Announces BIPOC Playwriting Initiative- The Lincoln Legacy Commissions

Ford's Theatre today announced the launch of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions—a new play development initiative for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) playwrights that explores racial history and social justice in the United States and gives voice to lesser-known historical figures and their contributions to American life. Playwrights Pearl Cleage, Rickerby Hinds, Nambi E. Kelley, Dominic Taylor and Charlayne Woodard comprise the inaugural writers of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions.

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND Will Be Performed By Moonlight Stage Productions in June and July

First, the Moonlight celebrates the 40th anniversary of its founding in 1981 and its subsequent productions of 219 shows both at the Moonlight Amphitheatre and the AVO Playhouse. Its second milestone is its return to the stage following a near year-and-a-half nationwide shutdown of live events during the pandemic.

Obie Winner Renata Hinrichs Returns to the Stage With Live RANDOM ACTS

Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre will host RANDOM ACTS, a solo play written and performed by Obie Award winner Renata Hinrichs. Directed by Jessi D. Hill, performances begin May 23 at the cell. Performances will be presented open air for a strictly limited audience.
