Performance Space New York presents Brontez Purnell's Invisible Trial, a dance solo from the acclaimed writer (100 Boyfriends, MCDxFSG) and dancer (Brontez Purnell Dance Company), June 16–18 (in The Sydney Neilma Theatre, 150 1st Ave. 4th floor). Choreographed by Larry Arrington, Invisible Trial is loosely based on the Sylvia Plath short story 'Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams”—with anxiety as the work's overlord.

Jazz Vocalist Sylvia Brooks to Drop Fourth Album, 'Signature'

Since her captivating debut in 2009, jazz vocalist Sylvia Brooks has displayed a gift for inhabiting different personas, with a subspecialty in film- noir inspired femmes fatale. On this - Signature (Rhombus Records) - her fourth album, she embraces the most challenging role of all, defining herself with a set of beautifully crafted original songs. Her evocative lyrics and emotionally direct delivery imbue the music with hard-won authenticity. Whether looking back with wry affection on her walk-on-the-wild-side youth or lamenting a lost love, Brooks brings bracing honesty and poise to the material.

Performance Lineup Announced for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

According to WhatsOnStage, the full lineup for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee has been announced. The 90 minute celebration is set to air tonight at 8pm via ITV. Stage and screen performers are set to take the stage, set on Windsor Castle grounds. Keala Settle from film's 'The Greatest Showman' and Broadway's Waitress will perform 'Sing' by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Gary Barlow. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Andrew Lloyd Weber have been collaborating on a special project that has not yet been revealed. Read more about the project here. 

Tamron Hall Celebrates 500 Episodes of Talk Show

Recently nominated for four Daytime Emmy awards, the nationally syndicated daytime talk show “Tamron Hall” aired its 500th episode today with guest appearances from comedian Arsenio Hall and Tamron’s good friend, actress Kim Fields. Arsenio and Tamron bonded over more than sharing the same last name, they also discussed their mutual love for Prince and the relationship they both had with him, while Fields opened up about the beginning of her longtime friendship with Tamron. The celebratory episode also included a highlight reel featuring top moments from three seasons of “Tamron Hall.”

Sarah Paulson, Uzo Aduba & More Join CLYBOURNE PARK Film Adaption

Sarah Paulson, Uzo Aduba, Anthony Mackie, Martin Freeman, Nick Robinson, and Hillary Baack will star in a new film adaption of Bruce Norris' Claybourne Park. Tony-nominee Pam MacKinnon is also set to direct the new film. The play premiered on Broadway in 2012, winning the Tony Award for Best Play.

FRIGID New York to Present 8th Annual Queerly Festival

FRIGID New York will present the 8th Annual Queerly Festival at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), June 15-July 3. Most performances will also be available to livestream from home.
