Since the players of East Lynne Theatre Company in Cape May, NJ cannot perform in front of a live audience at the moment due to a pandemic, they are finding ways to perform on YouTube.

Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse will present a 'screened' reading of Susan Glaspell and George Cram Cook's one-act comedy, SUPPRESSED DESIRES, via live stream video, with special guest J ELLEN GAINOR participating in a post-show talk on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 8 PM, EST. It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Michael R. Jackson's A Strange Loop has officially won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included: Will Arbery's Heroes of the Fourth Turning and David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori's Soft Power.

Mint Theater Company Producing Artistic Director Jonathan Bank today announced that 'Meet Miss Baker,' scheduled to begin performances in May, would be postponed to summer 2021.

Modern American drama was born in Provincetown when the Provincetown Players were founded in July, 1915. They are credited with changing American theater forever by birthing the careers of famous playwrights such as Eugene O'Neill and Susan Glaspell, who would eventually relocate to Greenwich Village to found the historic and famous Provincetown Playhouse. These revolutionary artists set the stage for Provincetown to become a hub for talented and innovative theatrical minds. Ever since, Provincetown has been an incubator for brilliant theatrical characters, many of whom would go on to become well-known on an international stage.

In Santa Barbara, Ensemble's end of season production is a rom-com about an odd couple that comes together while learning to dance. SBCAST, an art space yet underutilized by the theatre community, will host Dogstar Theater Company's drink-and-walk exhibit of scenes and short plays. In Carpinteria, catch DramaDog's production of The Lost Virginity Tours, a comedy that takes four women on a road trip of memories as they visit the sights of first love. Up in Isla Vista, UCSB is producing the student one-act plays and a main-stage play about a young woman's heroine's journey over the border. Out in the valley, PCPA presents a raucous contemporary Broadway musical in the outdoor amphitheater in Solvang for theatre under the stars.

An Other Theater Company, known for producing work outside of the regular faire in Utah County, has announced their third season, keeping with their mandate to produce work by and about women and the LGBTQ+ community.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview has officially won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Three generations of women form the centerpiece of the Centenary Stage Company  2019 Women Playwrights Series'  second presentation, "Whippoorwill" by San Francisco playwright Ruth Kirschner, to be presented Wednesday, Apr 17 at 7:30 PM at the Lackland Performing Art Center.
