East Lynne Theater Company presents a reading of the one-act play 'Aftermath' by Mary P. Burrill for free, due to support from The New Jersey Theatre Alliance's 'Stages Festival.' 

Centenary Stage Company's Women Playwrights Series returns this spring with three brand-new play readings. Readings will take place on Wednesdays throughout April at 7:30 pm in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University.

H*tler’s Tasters, a new play by award-winning playwright Michelle Kholos Brooks (War Words, Kalamazoo) and directed by Sarah Norris (Everything is Super Great, This Wrestling Place), will play a four-week Off-Broadway engagement, April 14 through May 7, at Theatre Row, Theatre One (410 West 42nd Street, NYC).

North Star Theater Company is staging Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical, '21 Chump Street,' and Susan Glaspell's drama, 'Trifles,' at the Performing Arts Center at Sussex County Community College in Newton this December.

Kumu Kahua Theatre has announced their entire 50th Season of productions will be available to watch free of charge – with a subtitle option - for one weekend in August 2021. On the morning of August 7th, 2021, a playlist of the 50th season of Kumu Kahua Theatre will be available to watch on YouTube until midnight on August 8th.

In life, I believe that it is always good to be aware of the different perspectives there may be towards scenarios like the phenomenon we are currently facing. I find it vital to take the initiative to reach out to others and get their opinions or insights.

Madison Shakespeare Company will present two special pop-up performances this July in anticipation of the summer premiere of the full-length comedy All's Well That Ends Well. The events are scheduled for 7 PM Thursday July 8 on the Stone Horse Green in downtown Middleton, and 5 PM Saturday July 10 at Everyday Kitchen on Madison's Near West side.

It was just announced by the Pulitzer Prize organization that Katori Hall's The Hot Wing King has officially won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included Circle Jerk by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley and Stew by Zora Howard.

This past semester, I took one of my favorite classes I’ve had so far in my time at Tisch, Feminism and Theatre. My teacher, Gwendolyn Alker’s, syllabus set the stage for the amazing class. We read plays by playwrights of all different backgrounds, about all kinds of subjects, and we talked about why they’re important, in conjunction with feminist theoretical texts.

This season’s selection features Atlas the Lonely Gibbon by Deborah Yarchun on Wednesday, April 14; The Persuadables by Hallie Palladino on Wednesday, April 21; Cotton’s Tale by Pauline David-Sax on Wednesday, April 28; and Loretta the Yodeling Cowgirl by Vita Patrick Morales on Wednesday, May 5.

The winning plays, The Last Ship to Proxima Centauri by Greg Lam, In His Hands by Benjamin Benne, and Rx Machina by Caity-Shea Violette will be workshopped and given digital readings in the 32nd Annual Little Festival of the Unexpected over three weekends in March and April, starting March 12, 2021. The digital workshop performances are free and open to the public with registration.
