Mirage Theatre Company Presents Staged Reading Performance Of BROKEN DOLLS

Mirage Theatre Company has commissioned New Dramatists playwright Melisa Tien to create 'Broken Dolls,' an original theater work about the trafficking of women. As part of its New Blood readings series, Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present a staged reading of the play, adapted and directed by June Prager, Mirage Theatre Company's Artistic Director, on October 21, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

Full Cast Announced For PUMPGIRL At Irish Rep

Irish Repertory Theatre has announced full casting for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winning-play Pumpgirl, by Abbie Spallen (Strandline), directed by Nicola Murphy (Stop/Over). Pumpgirl begins performances in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre (132 W 22nd Street, New York, NY 10011) on November 7, 2019, with opening night set for November 14, for a limited run through December 29, 2019.

URINETOWN Comes to OU Stage

Oakland University's School of Music, Theatre and Dance will present Urinetown a?" a Tony Award-winning musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself a?" from Oct. 10 through Oct. 20 in the Varner Studio Theatre in Varner Hall.

DOUBT At Studio Theatre Receives Second Extension; Must Close October 20

Studio Theatre's season-opening production of Doubt: A Parable has been extended a second time, closing October 20, 2019. John Patrick Shanley's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece is directed at Studio by Matt Torney and anchored by Studio mainstay Sarah Marshall. She is joined by Christian Conn (Studio Theatre's Venus in Fur) as Father Flynn, Amelia Pedlow as Sister James, and Tiffany M. Thompson as Mrs. Muller.

the american vicarious Presents the World Premiere of (A)LOFT MODULATION

a??a??a??a??a??a??a?? the american vicarious proudly presents the World Premiere of (A)loft Modulation by NYC-based playwright Jaymes Jorsling. Inspired by true events at 821 6th Avenue from 1957 - 1965,  (A)loft Modulation will feature a live jazz band led by saxophonist Jonathan Beshay that will improvise nightly. Opening Night is tonight, Thursday October 3rd. This limited Off-Broadway engagement runs through Sunday, October 27th.

Gulfshore Playhouse Announces First Corporate Gift From Bank Of America For New Theatre And Education Center

Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples' premier professional theatre has reached another milestone in its Next Stage Capital Campaign with the announcement of its first corporate gift. Bank of America has awarded Gulfshore Playhouse with a $250,000 grant that will support the construction of the new Gulfshore Playhouse Theatre and Education Center at the corner of Goodlette-Frank Road and First Avenue South.

The Warner Presents its International Playwrights Festival

The Warner Theatre will present its 8th Annual International Playwrights Festival held in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre October 11 and 12, 2019. The mission of the International Playwrights Festival is to recognize the work of emerging and established playwrights and to build a link between the playwrights, the theatre community and our audiences. The festival is a two-night celebration of new works by playwrights from across the country and around the globe. For the eighth year, 150 plays were accepted for consideration from across the United States and as far away as China and New Zealand. Eleven winners have been selected and one play will be invited to participate in the 2019 festival.

Mosaic Theater Company Of DC Presents The American Premiere Of Norman Yeung's THEORY

Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents the second offering in its 'Stages of Awakening' Season 5 with the American premiere of Theory by Norman Yeung, directed by Associate Artistic Director, Victoria Murray Baatin, making her Mosaic directorial debut.  The play, Winner of Canada's Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition and produced to acclaim at Toronto's Tarragon Theatre last fall, runs at the Atlas Performing Arts Center from October 23 through November 17, 2019.  Opening press night takes place Monday, October 28 at 7:30 pm following 5 preview performances, including a full Pay-What-You- Can performance October 23, with additional Pay-What-You-Can tickets available throughout the preview period.
