You asked for it after seeing the Staged Reading in 2021… and now the Warner Theatre has announced the Stage @ the Warner production of SILENT SKY by Lauren Gunderson, which will be presented in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre from May 7-22, 2022. 

The 2021-22 season of The Met: Live in HD will continue with Verdi’s DON CARLOS on Saturday, March 26 at 12:00 pm in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will present Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson’s sweeping drama Gem of the Ocean. This seminal classic will be directed by Artistic Director Tim Bond, a close friend of the late playwright and a leading interpreter of his work, making his TheatreWorks directorial debut with this play.

Centenary Stage Company has cast their World Premiere production of Whippoorwill by Ruth Kirschner, and tickets are on-sale now. Performances will take place March 31 through April 10 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is set to present The Grandma That Eats Everything & Other Winning Plays, a collection of plays inspired by the imaginations of children in sixth grade and below. This production is presented as part of FST’s WRITE A PLAY program, an award-winning arts-in-education initiative that provides students with the example, the inspiration, and the skills to write their own original plays.

In response to changing Covid-19 conditions, some #SafeArtsSarasota organizations will be modifying their audience protocols as of Monday, March 7, 2022. Circus Arts Conservatory, Florida Studio Theatre, Sarasota Opera, Sarasota Orchestra, and Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will no longer require proof of a recent test or vaccination to enter their venues. Face masks covering the nose and mouth will still be required inside the venues. However, ticketholders are encouraged to check each organization’s website, as these policies will be evaluated on a regular basis as conditions evolve.

The World Premiere of i need space, a new digital series written, directed and created by Donja R. Love (Sugar In Our Wounds, one in two) and presented by The New Group Off Stage in association with John Ridley’s NŌ Studios and Frank Marshall will begin streaming March 8, 2022, exclusively on the new streaming platform, Broadstream.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced casting for the world premiere production of The Bedwetter, a new musical with a book by Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon and Emmy Award winner Sarah Silverman, lyrics by Emmy Award winner Adam Schlesinger and Sarah Silverman.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) is thrilled to be the home of the long-awaited world premiere of THE PRETTY PANTS BANDIT, a new Atlanta-born pop-rock musical by Chase Peacock and Jessica De Maria. The opening is March 31, 2022, and the play runs Wednesdays-Sundays through April 17, 2022. 

The St. Louis Black Repertory Company continues its in-person 45th Anniversary season with Behind the Sheet by Charly Evon Simpson opening March 18, 2022. Previews begin March 16 at the Catherine B. Berges Theatre at Center of Creative Arts (COCA) in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Stage @ the Warner 2022 Season kicks off with the psychological thriller, BUG by Tracy Letts, presented in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, April 9-24, 2022. The cast features Amanda Friedman, Josh Newey, Rae Janeil Sutherland, Daniel R. Willey and Lauren Jacob!

From March 11 to April 16, 2022, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present a rousing new production of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, one of the most beloved musicals in Broadway history.

Cast member Madalyn McHugh, returning to FST for the third time, has a repertoire that includes musical theatre, opera, pop, contemporary Christian music, and, especially, deep country roots. In this interview, we discuss her Nashville origins, what music has taught her, and the magical music moments audiences have experienced in “Friends in Low Places.”

Sent to stay with his step-grandfather in a Rhode Island beach town for a summer, Daniel collides with Izzy, a feisty local. In a spirited dueling of minds that plays off the tropes of romantic comedy, Indian Summer explores what connection is, romantic and otherwise. The play features Spencer Gonzalez, Clara Napolitano, Haythem Noor, and Julian Socha.

A boutique Shakespeare, some of the religious aspects of the play are sacrificed for a version that proves to be an accessible, psychological political thriller.

The Black Rep announced the extension of Fireflies by Donja R. Love for an additional week, through March 6. Directed by Atlanta-based actor and director Andrea Frye, and featuring Zahria Moore and Eric Conners, the courageous work takes an intimate approach to exploring personal aspects of the Civil Rights Movement.

 Fault Line Theatre will continue the 2022 Season of Irons in the  Fire, the organization’s reading series of new plays in development, with God Save the Queer by Zackary Grady, directed by Portia Krieger and featuring Michael Urie (George), Mallory Portnoy (Charlotte), Keshav Moodliar (Tariq), Seth Clayton (Louis), and Mary McCann (Kate).
