Simon Hammerstein and Randy Weiner (founding partners of famed downtown hotspot The Box) announced today that self-proclaimed 'Queen of All Media' and frequent theater blogger Perez Hilton will make a special trip to New York City to host CBS Radio New York's exclusive, by-invitation-only preview party at the upcoming Halloween-themed nightclub, Purgatorio, to kick-off the 2009 Halloween season. The event will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 11:00 PM at Purgatorio's tri-level space in the heart of Times Square (268 W. 47th Street). The earlier timeslots on Saturday, October 17 (7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM) are still available for general sale and will not be affected by this private event.

This holiday season, MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER will celebrate a quarter-century of being America's favorite Christmas music artist with a 58-city, 25th Christmas Anniversary Tour of their spectacular and beloved holiday show. The group will perform live for ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY in San Antonio at the MAJESTIC THEATRE on Friday, Nov. 27th at 8 p.m.

From September 8-16, BAMcinématek, the repertory film program at BAM Rose Cinemas, presents Robert Redford: Artist & Activist, a 16-film tribute to Redford's 50-year career in film. Robert Redford will be at BAM in-person to discuss his work as one of the 20th century's most celebrated actors and as an Academy-award winning director, as well as a leading environmental and social change activist, and champion of independent cinema as founder of The Sundance Institute.

On September 15, Loudon Wainwright III will perform a unique concert at the Highline Ballrom highlighting tracks from his new double-album, 'High Wide and Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project' (Aug 18 / 2nd Story Sound Records). Loudon will be joined by the wonderful singers Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Maggie Roche, Terre Roche, Suzzy Roche, and Dave Roche.
