The Factory Theater is proud to announce its 27th anniversary season of world premieres at its Rogers Park home. The 2019 - 2020 Season includes Scott OKen's Oh Sh#t! It's Haunted!, September 27 - November 9; Mike Beyer and Kirk Pynchon's Last Night in Karaoke Town, February 14 - March 28, 2020 and Angelina Martinez's The HOA, June 12 - July 25, 2020. The Factory Theater, celebrating five years on Howard Street in Rogers Park, continues the tradition it established at Season One: producing original, impactful, timely work that is important to the company, its ensemble and Chicago. The Factory's core values and unique sense of humor have not changed, and it continues to do what it does best: unabashedly entertain its audience totally and completely. 

MusicWorks today invited music fans of classic folk and rock to five more super fun concerts at Old School Square, located at 51 N. Swinton Avenue in Delray Beach.

Decadence and dreams, Hollywood nights and hair bands, and Journey and jazz hands, it could be said that ROCK OF AGES is a party almost 40 years in the making. The Tenth Anniversary Tour of ROCK OF AGES opened at the Durham Performing Arts Center last night, marking the tour's 100th performance. The show tells the story of a wannabe rocker/barback named Drew and aspiring actress from the Midwest named Sherrie who meet, fall in love, break up, and live happily ever after in la-la land. While the whole storyline is formulaic and predictable, what makes this show work is the mashup of 80s music and some powerhouse vocals.

You could say that Katie LaMark has been ready to rock from the time she was a little girl. That's because she is a self-described 'studio kid' whose parents were both musicians. 'My mother is really the rocker of the two of them and my father is a much more disciplined, jazz piano player,' she says. 'I have a little bit of the discipline and a little bit of the edge.' And that diverse range has helped LaMark in her career. Her first big show was the 20th Anniversary Tour of RENT, in which she played Maureen. That production played the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) in 2016.

The idea of stunt casting, the practice of taking a big name and putting them in a role just to get butts in seats, has always terrified me. And I've seen it result anywhere from the sublime such as Neil Patrick Harris killing it as "Hedwig" to the shudder inducing Molly Ringwald completely out of her depth as the world's oldest taxi dancer in "Sweet Charity". And while the 5th Avenue's couple of stunt casts, specifically rock royalty Micky Thomas of Starship as club owner Dennis and Galen Disston of the Seattle rock band Pickwick as the romantic lead Drew, in their current production of "Rock of Ages" were nowhere near the latter, when it came to delivering a line or executing some choreography, you could definitely tell the musical theater folks from the rockers. However, when it came to wailing out some amazing rock songs, those stunt casts had no equal, so all told, it amounted for a pretty awesome show. But we'll get to specifics in a minute.

Megan Freedman has performed numerous gigs with acclaimed Italian guitarist Peppino D'Agostino and is often sought for weddings and funerals. Before relocating from Chicago to California, she toured with her singing sisters.

Second Street Players proudly present To Kill A Mockingbird dramatized by Christopher Sergel from the book by Harper Lee. . Performance dates are February 1, 2,3,8, 9, and 10 Curtain is at 7pm for the Friday and Saturday shows and 2pm for the Sunday shows. Today, Dan Wilson released a new song 'Uncanny Valley' following his announcement last month that he will begin releasing a new song each month in lieu of full length album this year. These songs follow the release of his critically-acclaimed 2017 solo album Re-Covered where he revisited songs he wrote for and with other artists like Adele, The Dixie Chicks and more.

Former Journey lead singer Steve Perry says he left the band in the late '90s because he fell out of love with music and wanted to move forward, he tells Tracy Smith in an interview for CBS SUNDAY MORNING to be broadcast Sunday, Oct. 7 (9:00 AM ET) on the CBS Television Network.

MusicWorks today announced that it would be presenting 15 classic folk and rock concerts October through April at Old School Square, located at 51 N. Swinton Avenue in Delray Beach. Ten of the concerts will be presented in the venue's Crest Theatre, while five will be held in Old School Square's outdoor Pavilion.

This Fall, The Iridium will showcase the songwriters and session musicians behind the biggest rock and pop anthems of all-time. Kicking off “Legends in Session” September 25-27 will be guitarist Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big; multi-Platinum selling recording artist and seven-time Grammy nominee Joan Osborne on September 28 & 29; The Edgar Winter Band on October 5 & 6, Carl Palmer playing the best of Emerson, Lake & Palmer on October 21-23, ZZ Top's Billy F Gibbons on October 30 & 31, and Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs and Poison on November 2-4.

What do you get when you mix a stellar group of community theatre actors, a devoted theatre company, and 80's rock hits? The answer is the totally radical production of Rock of Ages now entertaining audiences at the Central New York Playhouse. Director Dan Rowlands has assembled a high energy, talented cast to bring the rock/jukebox musical to local audiences and the end result is a non-stop party on stage.

The 16 th annual Summer Concert Series at Geneva Commons kicks off on Friday, June 22, with the energetic Neverly Brothers. The free outdoor concerts will continue through July 15 in the lifestyle shopping center's newly renovated courtyard. Sunday concerts begin at 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday night concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Concertgoers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

Celebrated tribute acts "DSB: Journey Tribute" and The Rolling Stones tribute band Mick Adams and The Stones will bring iconic rock hits to Suncoast Showroom in July.

Theatre Arlington's 45th Anniversary Season is ready to cut loose...footloose that is, with the production of Footloose the Musical, opening on May 11th. The stage adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie is based on Pitchford's original screenplay. 

Journey band member and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jonathan Cain is headed to Naperville for a book signing for his new memoir. Cain will present 'Don't Stop Believin': The Man, the Band and the Song that Inspired Generations' on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at 2nd & Charles at Westridge Court located at 336 IL-59 in Naperville, Illinois.
