Stanley Kubrick's iconic work will be adapted for the first time ever, when a world premiere stage production of his timeless classic Dr. Strangelove opens in the West End in Autumn 2024.

Shakespeare North Playhouse, a world-class cultural landmark situated in the heart of Prescot, is celebrating its first birthday. 

Shakespeare North Playhouse has announced its lineup of performances, workshops and events for the upcoming 2023 Summer Season. 

Picking up the baton from interviewing Frank Cottrell Boyce in February, Steve will be the next in line to be interviewed for Shakespeare North Playhouse’s ‘An Evening With’ events. Steve will chat about his incredible career, from the creation of his infamous character Alan Partridge to his production company Baby Cow. 

Luminaries such as JULES cast Academy Award®-winner Ben Kingsley, Tony Award-Winner Harriet Sansom Harris, Succession star Zoe Winters, and Jade Quon and special guests Karen Allen (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Academy Award®-winning producer David Dinerstein (“Summer of Soul”), and more.

Continuing his series of In Conversation events in aid of Kiln Theatre, Jim Carter will sit down with one of the UK's most celebrated actors and comedians Rob Brydon in a special one-off fundraising event on 16 May 2023, where he will discuss his brilliant and varied career.

Award winning comedian Rob Brydon and his eight-piece band continue their widely praised tour into 2022 with his show, Rob Brydon – A Night of Songs & Laughter, with this production marking the first time Brydon has created a show that includes songs and music as well as his acclaimed wit and comedy.

Joining the previously announced Kirsty Besterman (Constance Wicksteed), Jasper Britton (Arthur Wicksteed), Matthew Cottle (Canon Throbbing), Ria Jones (Mrs Swabb), Thomas Josling (Dennis Wicksteed), Caroline Langrishe (Lady Rumpers), Catherine Russell (Muriel Wicksteed) and Abdul Salis (Mr Shanks), are Katie Bernstein (Felicity Rumpers), Kelvin O'Mard (Mr Purdue) and Dan Starkey (Sir Percy).

Bess Wohl will keep the controversial 1934 play in it's original time setting but will dive deeper into the court case, the community surrounding the school, and the psyche of the accuser.

Naturally Insane! The Life of Dan Leno will premiere at the Criterion Theatre on Monday November 15 with two very special performances. Comedian, TV star and radio presenter Steve Royle stars as Dan Leno while comedian and actor John Thomson will guest star in the cameo role of Herbert Beerbohm Tree.

The antics of the Wicksteed home are a darkly satirical merry-go-round in Alan Bennett's Habeas Corpus.  Family, friends and the quest for sexual pleasures of the body (“corpus”) are the ruling passions in this farcical comedy of ill-manners. Through an escapade of mistaken identities and carnal encounters, one motto holds fast: “He whose lust lasts, lasts longest.”

No word yet on whether Rexy, the Tyrannosaurus skeleton, will be able to sneak away from his spot to join!
