Deadline reports that Joel and Ethan Coen have signed a deal with the FX network to adapt their Academy Award-winning film FARGO into a TV series. According to the report, the hour-long series will be 'loosely based' on the 1996 crime film.

Sunday night marks the biggest night in TV when the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards - the 64th telecast of its kind - airs on ABC, hosted by late-night mainstay Jimmy Kimmel in his Emmy hosting debut. One Night Only, a part of the 2012 Araca Project, finishes its run today at the American Theatre of Actors (314 West 54th Street). Directed by T. J. Shanoff, One Night Only is a completely improvised musical. With music direction by Mike Descoteaux, One Night Only stars Kate Cohen, Matthew Van Colton, Katie Dufrensne, Nicole C. Hastings, Kevin Sciretta and Michael Girts. The cast creates a brand new musical each night, developed through audience suggestion, singing, dancing, rhyming, rapping and free play. All veterans of The Second City's farm system, One Night Only, uses audience suggestions to create a 60-minute musical to rival Sondheim himself.

Comedian Jeremy Elwood is taking to the stage at The Court Theatre in the world première of new play THE SLAPDASH ASSASSIN. Elwood trades a microphone for a handgun in an Irish comedy 'as black as a pint of Guinness'.

Pook's Hill will present SOMETHING WILD…, an evening of three rarely performed short plays by Tennessee Williams: Hello From Bertha, 27 Wagons Full of Cotton, and This Property is Condemned. Directed by Ken Schatz and starring Andrus Nichols (Off-Broadway's Saint Joan), performances begin tonight September 14th at The Dorothy Strelsin Theatre at The Abingdon Theater Arts Complex. Opening night is sceduled for Friday, September 21st.
