An exciting 2022-23 theater season has been announced by the Department of Theater at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (UCLA TFT).

Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (PAC) will kick off its 2022-2023 season in September with a variety of events in theatre, dance and music. Taking the stage this fall are such exciting artists as Anthony Rapp, Zeniba Now and Eileen Ivers as well as the talented students of Adelphi.

Stripped to the essentials - a stage, a handful of actors, a rapt audience - ANTIGONE recently proved once again its place in the pantheon of the world's finest tragic plays. The international production of the Sophokles drama made a short stop in Washington for the last leg of a national tour of select American cities, helmed by the Belgian theatre wunderkind Ivo van Hove. French film and theatre star Juliette Binoche led an ensemble of U.K.-based actors who clearly illuminated the timeless tale of family devotion versus the law.

With King Kreon in exile, the birds of Thebes had their fill. The air was bitter with the stench of unburied corpses lying on the battlefield. Two of those peck-eaten bodies were brothers who killed each other for their father's throne.

Beginning tonight, Sep 24, and running through Oct 4, 2015, Anne Carson's new translation of ANTIGONE by Sophokles, starring Juliette Binoche in the title role, runs as part of BAM's 2015 Next Wave Festival.

According to The New York Times, actor and director Judith Malina, who founded The Living Theatre with her husband, Julian Beck, passed away today, April 10, 2015 in Englewood, N.J. at the Lillian Booth Actors Home. She was 88.

The next Revelation Reading, Euripides' HIPPOLYTOS, directed by Ted Pappas with Olympia Dukakis, Laila Robins, Robert Cuccioli, Clifton Duncan, Gina Daniels, Phillipe Bowgen, Catherine Gowl, Lara Hillier, January LaVoy, Deanne Lorette, Bhavesh Patel, Jean Tafler, and Edward James Hyland, will take place Monday, February 16th at Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.
