MPAC's 2018-2019 season promises to be one full of amazing concerts, musicals, family events, dance and even Vicki Lawrence's Mama.

The Public Theater will present the Annual Gala performance of the groundbreaking and thought-provoking musical RUNAWAYS by Elizabeth Swados on Monday, June 11 at the Delacorte Theater. There will also be a free added public performance of the musical on Tuesday, June 12, open to all.

Jersey City Theater Center Resistance Series closes Friday, June 15th with The BOX: Resistance Edition, an evening of music, spoken-word, poetry, dance and other performances.

The Smithsonian's Archives of American Art announced that it is the beneficiary of a major promised gift from the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation: the expansive Roy Lichtenstein Foundation records and Roy Lichtenstein papers comprising over 500 linear feet. The gift constitutes the most complete research resource anywhere on the art and life of the artist and his times, illuminating Lichtenstein's wide-reaching influence and legacy. The foundation will support the digitization of the collection in collaboration with the Archives and will gift the papers in stages. Initial processing of these comprehensive records has begun, and access to the collection will be free and available on the Archives' website.

The Music Center welcomes the return of American Ballet Theatre (ABT) with the company's production of the 19th century classic ballet, La Bayadere, which will be performed at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for the first time from July 13 - 15, 2018.  The final engagement of the 15th season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, La Bayadere is set in royal India and tells the story of eternal love, fate, vengeance and justice.  The production will highlight ABT's stellar roster of international ballet stars, including Principal Dancers Isabella Boylston, Jeffrey Cirio, Misty Copeland, Hee Seo, Cory Stearns, Gillian Murphy, Devon Teuscher and Christine Shevchenko.

Schimmel Center will present Tony and Pulitzer Prize nominee Anna Deavere Smith's Obie Award-winning solo performance, Notes From the Field, for one weekend only on Friday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Today, June 2 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in preparation for a two week run at the Royal Court in London. The production is directed by Leonard Foglia and features original music composed and performed by bassist Marcus Shelby who joins Ms. Smith on stage.

Los Altos Hills will be alive with The Sound of Music this summer, when multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning musical. This beloved musical, set in Austria in 1938, follows novice Maria Rainer who becomes the governess for the von Trapp family, capturing the hearts of the seven children and their father, a widowed naval captain. As the Nazis occupy Austria, the family is forced make decisions which forever change their lives, fleeing their home in pursuit of freedom.

After selling out their first three performances, Trans Voices Cabaret returns to The Duplex for a special Pride week show with an even bigger cast of transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming performers on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at 6:30pm, with direction by Donnie Cianciotto and musical direction by Anessa Marie.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Robert Pattinson, Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn and Lily-Rose Depp have joined Timothee Chalamet and Joel Edgerton in Netflix's upcoming period drama, The King. Sean Harris and Lily-Rose Depp will also co-star in David Michod's Netflix drama.

There's a new musical that's sure to tear you apart! Following an initial report about a January 2018 premiere, producers announced that OH HI, JOHNNY!- The 'Room-sical' Parody, will push back their premiere to May of 2018 at the Orlando Fringe Festival.

Now celebrating its 40th year, the annual Museum Mile Festival takes place rain or shine on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Over 1.5 million people have taken part in this annual celebration since its inception. Festival attendees can walk the Mile on Fifth Avenue between 82nd Street and 105th Street while visiting six of New York City's finest cultural institutions, which are open free to the public throughout the evening. The Museum Mile Festival's opening ceremony takes place at 5:45pm at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street). Traditionally, the Commissioner of Cultural Affairs and other city and state dignitaries open the Festival.

Ensemble Connect-made up of some of the finest young professional classical musicians in the United States-performs a program of adventurous, contemporary works, including the New York City premiere of a new work by Andy Akiho in its first collaboration with the Rite of Summer Music Festival on Saturday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Governors Island. The concerts, which take place on Colonels Row, include all 18 of Ensemble Connect's musicians as they approach the end of their two-year fellowship. The program also includes music by Charles Wuorinen, Osvaldo Golijov, and Jennifer Higdon.

Last night, May 28, 2018, Theatre Now New York presented its Fifth Annual Festival of 10-Minute Musicals, SOUND BITES 5.0, on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center, to a sold-out house for the second year in a row. This annual, one-night only event showcases ten new musicals of up-and-coming musical theatre writing teams.

Magical Promotions, together with Coney Island USA, presents an afternoon of fun and wonder for the entire family. "Magic at Coney!!!" is a magical variety show highlighting a vast array of magicians; featuring illusionists, escape artists, mentalists and close-up magicians from around the world.

South Jersey ARTS FEST will be held at Appel Farm on Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, 2018. This immersive arts festival will be experiential, hands-on, diverse, and is designed to attract new and returning visitors of all ages to Appel Farm for a day of community, music, food, wine, beer, and art-making in the South Jersey region.

Opera Theatre St. Louis has produced many wonderful productions, and a handful of simply perfect ones. Their production of 'Regina' is among the latter.

The Jewish Repertory Theatre has announced its 2018/19 Sweet Sixteen Season.

Solomon Kee's A Night With Mr. Wonderful will premiere for the first time in its entirety here in New York City. It will take place at the world famous variety theatre The Slipper Room. Performance will take place on Monday June 5, 2018 at 8:00 pm

Actors' Equity Association, the union which represents more than 51,000 professional stage actors and stage managers, announced the results of the 2018 National Council election.  In total, 55 Council seats across all three regions and representing three (3) categories (principal actor, chorus actor and stage manager) were filled, effective immediately.
