English theaters have centuries of great plays to dig out and dust off, and occasionally a forgotten piece can become a modern hit. That's exactly what has happened to London Assurance, which first hit the boards in 1841, and is now the runaway hit of the London theater season.

Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival and the Irish Film Institute have joined forces to bring NT Live to Dublin. On June 28th at 6:45PM, the IFI will feature live via satellite the National Theatre's production of Irish playwright Dion Boucicault's LONDON ASSURANCE, starring Fiona Shaw and Simon Russell Beale, in the fourth screening at the IFI from the NT Live series. NT Live is an initiative to broadcast live performances of National Theatre plays onto cinema screens around the world.

Boucicault's brilliantly funny comedy LONDON ASSURANCE, starring Simon Russell Beale and Fiona Shaw in Nicholas Hytner's sell-out hit production will be filmed live at the National Theatre in London on Monday, June 28th and broadcast by satellite to cinemas worldwide.

Due to overwhelming demand in the U.K., the National has decided to add a bonus fifth NT Live event this season, the sold-out hit play, London Assurance. Starring Fiona Shaw and Simon Russell Beale, directed by NT Artistic Director Nicholas Hytner.

Baz Bamigboye reports in the U.K. Daily Mail today that Estelle Parsons will join Jonathan Groff and Simon Russell Beale in the West End production of DEATHTRAP this fall. The role of the 'eccentric Dutch psychic' was orginally to be played by Anna Massey, however she recently withdrew from the project for personal reasons.
