Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this April with a full slate of nightly performances! 

The Candy Man came to Jackson on Sunday, March 13th, and brought a world of pure imagination with him. As part of Broadway in Jackson’s 2021-2022 season, presented by Trustmark, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s North American tour stopped at Thalia Mara Hall for one night only.

Susie Mosher always keeps the talent on the stage classy but this week there was a plethora of piano players to liven things up.

It was inevitable, perhaps, that post-truth politics would seep into 21st century absurdist theater.  One sunny example is 'Occasionally Nothing' by Natalie Menna, which takes us to an upsetting time-to-come when something can become a profound, obvious nothing. 

The unstoppable New Zealand eight-piece The Black Seeds, tease the upcoming release of their upcoming seventh album ‘Love & Fire with another cracking single – the funk-filled ‘It’s So Real’, accompanied by an epic video of superhero proportions. The track was released alongside a new music video.

The comedy focuses on the relationship between young, wild Toni and her older, married lover Julian, a dentist. Convinced the two have no future together, Toni attempts suicide, and a guilt-ridden Julian rashly proposes he leave his wife so the couple can be together. However, Julian has never revealed to Toni that his 'marriage' is actually an elaborate lie concocted to keep Toni at arm's length. Toni refuses to break up his household without first meeting and talking with Julian's soon-to-be-ex, so Julian enlists the aid of his shy spinster assistant Stephanie to pose as his non-existent wife. Complications arise when Toni decides the two must find her a new beau so everyone concerned can live happily ever after. Take a trip back to the groovy 60s! 'Broadway at The Bourbon Room' is a new, monthly musical cabaret in Hollywood showcasing Broadway’s best talent and celebrating the songs, stories, and stars of Broadway. Each month will feature a different musical theme for Broadway at the Bourbon Room.

Transgender actor and creator of Trans Voices Cabaret, Donnie Cianciotto (he/them, SOUTHERN COMFORT), presents YOU ARE LOVED - A CONCERT BENEFITING TRANS YOUTH IN TEXAS on Wed, April 13th 2022 at 7:00 pm at The Green Room 42 starring transgender and nonbinary performers along with some of Broadway's biggest cis allies. YOU ARE LOVED will raise money for the Transgender Education Network of Texas, and the ACLU of Texas.
