The award-winning, hit show Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, has announced the complete cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway return this fall. Playhouse 46 at St. Luke’s will be transported into satirized versions of Hawkins, Indiana, and the Upside Down, with performances set to begin on Monday, September 12th.

The national tour of Waitress, featuring music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, opened at the Kimmel Cultural Campus’ Academy of Music last night, where it is set to run through Sunday, April 3.

The national tour of Waitress is currently making its way across the country, with stops in Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, Connecticut, South Carolina and more! Waitress' next stop is at The Kimmel Cultural Campus' Academy of Music in Philadelphia, where it will play from Tuesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 3, 2022.

The National Tour of Waitress, running now through March 20th at the Detroit Music Hall, is something spectacular. Waitress tells the story of Jenna - a Waitress and expert pie maker in a small southern town. She dreams of a way out of this small town and away from her broken marriage and abusive husband. Through the thought of winning a local pie baking contest and forming a brand-new life, Jenna longs to make her dreams a reality. In order to do so, Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life. With original music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, this show is sure to leave you singing in your seat.

Stray and the Soundtrack have joined forces with Lindsay Heather Pearce (Broadway’s current Elphaba in “Wicked’) to cover the classic David Bowie anthem “Heroes.' Written by David Bowie and Brian Eno, the song is now available on all streaming services.

Originally performed by Kenny Loggins, “Your Heart Will Lead You Home' is the latest in Stray and the Soundtrack's series of covers from their project which has also included covers of such Disney favorites as “I 2 I” from “A Goofy Movie,” “Jack’s Lament” from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and “Best Of Friends” from “The Fox and the Hound.”

Stray and the Soundtrack are releasing an epic cover song and music video tonight for fans of “Hawkeye” and the Marvel Universe —“Save The City” from “Rogers: The Musical,” the fictional musical about Captain America featured in the first episode of Marvel Studios' new Disney+ original series “Hawkeye.” 

Last night almost didn't feel real. Waitress opened in Louisville. This statement under normal circumstances wouldn't hold that much weight, but this show has been a bit of a unicorn for Louisville audiences, as the show's opening has been over three years in the making. The show was originally scheduled to close the 2017 - 2018 season, but in a bout of unfortunate luck, The Kentucky Center caught fire about a week before Waitress was set to arrive, and the damage was too great for the show's curtain to rise. A couple seasons later, the show was back on the schedule to the delight of many, but Covid-19 was the second roadblock the show faced in its lengthy journey to Louisville. That brings us to present day, in the reality of our new normal, when it almost seems fitting that Waitress was the show to reopen Louisville's booming Broadway season.

If you are skilled in the kitchen you know sugar, butter and flour are the holy trinity of baking.  “Waitress” is a moving musical made with a similar simple recipe. Take two people, mix them with love, and let it rise. 

Building on Adrienne Shelly’s sometimes grimly hilarious and frequently heartwarming 2007 movie of the same name, and realized for the musical stage by Broadway’s first all-female creative team in 2016, Waitress has been almost continuously on Broadway, apart from a COVID break which ended when the show was the first musical to reopen there. With great songs by Sara Bareilles, a strong script by Jessie Nelson, vivid characters, some surprising dance numbers, lots of sexy behavior, and a strong feminist message, there’s little not to like.

The show still has a winning recipe, but this touring production doesn't measure up to its 2018 D.C. predecessor.

Stray and the Soundtrack has kicked off their brand new series of cover songs called Disney Deep Dives -- which will be released as part of their Stray Covers project every other Tuesday through August 2022 -- with an electrifying cover and music video of 'I 2 I' from 1995's 'A Goofy Movie.' The track and video features special guest Bryce Charles on co-lead vocals and cosplaying as Powerline.
