August Wilson's GEM OF THE OCEAN To Run At Trinity Rep Beginning in February

Trinity Repertory Company's next production in the 2021-22 Season is August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean, the first play chronologically in the iconic playwright's American Century Cycle. Directed by resident company member Jude Sandy, Gem of the Ocean features a multigenerational cast of local artists.

Submissions Now Open for the Relentless Musical Award

The American Playwriting Foundation  and Building for the Arts have announced that submissions for the Relentless Musical Award are now open and will close on March 1, 2022. The creators of the winning submission will receive $65,000, the largest cash prize in American theater presented to an unproduced work. There is no fee to apply.

Broadway's SIX Drummer Elena Bonomo to Join LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS

Drummer Elena Bonomo, who performs nightly in the all-female band, The Ladies in Waiting, in Broadway’s hit musical SIX, and whose new single is entitled “Together,” will appear on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” throughout the week of January 24 when she sits in for bandleader Fred Armisen as guest drummer with the 8G Band.

Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival Announces Final Week Highlights

Now in its final week, the 14th annual Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival, running through January 31,will host two in-person events, including the world premiere of a new play by John Kearns and an online curated Irish language theater salon.

On A Clear Day You Can See Forever was written for Broadway and adapted into a 1970s film starring Barbra Streisand. This all-new take is adapted from Alan Jay Lerner’s original by Jay James-Moody (The Dismissal, Herringbone) who teams up with the legendary Kelley Abbey to co-direct this hilarious and heart-warming comedy of errors, exploring modern themes of sexuality, gender, and ethics in a fast-paced, joyous and musical delight featuring all-new arrangements of Lerner and Burton Lane’s wonderful songs. 

World Premiere PRAYER FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC Begins Performances Tonight

Manhattan Theatre Club’s world premiere of Prayer for the French Republic, written by Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon and directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer, begins performances tonight. The production opens Tuesday, February 1 at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street).
