On Sunday night, Warner/Chappell husband-and-wife songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez won the Academy Award for "Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song)," in recognition of "Let it Go" from Disney's Frozen.

Last night, October 25th, James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's never-before-staged Evening Primrose took a one-night-only bow to benefit the St. George's Society of New York 's Anglo-American Cultural Awards at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College. The production starred Candice Bergen, John McMartin, Sean Palmer, Bill Duell, John Windsor Cunningham, and Jessica Grove. As previously reported, on October 25th, James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's never-before-staged Evening Primrose - will take a one-night-only bow to benefit the St. George's Society of New York 's Anglo-American Cultural Awards at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College. In addition to Candice Bergen, John McMartin, Sean Palmer, Bill Duell, and John Windsor Cunningham, Jessica Grove is also joining the production. Grove is currently starring in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on Broadway.

EVENING PRIMROSE, the 1966 made-for-television Stephen Sondheim musical about a secret society of people living in department stores, will make its first appearance onstage on October 25, in a performance benefitting the St. George's Anglo-American Cultural Awards. The star-studded cast will include Candice Bergen, John McMartin, Sean Palmer, Bill Duell, John Windsor Cunningham, Carmen de Lavallade, Frederic Franklin, and Sondra Lee. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.

Kate Baldwin has replaced Christine Ebersole as the musical illustrator for A Conversation with STEPHEN SONDHEIM. This event is Moderated by Sean Flahaven, With Musical and Accompanied by SCOTT CADY. The event will take place on February 4, 2009. Stephen Sondheim, musical theatre icon, discusses his 50-year career as a composer and lyricist for stage and screen. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, an Academy Award and multiple Tony, Drama Desk and Grammy Awards, he wrote the music and/or lyrics for such hits as Assassins, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Company, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and West Side Sondheim will be joined vocalist Kate Baldwin, Sean Patrick Flahaven, Associate Editor of The Sondheim Review, who will moderate this very special evening.
