The Gateway of Bellport certainly has another hit on their hands with their current offering of the fun musical Rock Of Ages. Running through June 2nd at the beautiful Long Island venue, this Tony nominee celebrates all things 80's with some of music's greatest songs making up the score. Created by Chris D'Arienzo, there are several story lines woven throughout this raucous musical excellently directed by Keith Andrews.

The first of five anonymous celebrities took to the stage for opening night of Intangible Adorations: Experience The Icon on Saturday October 12th to the delight of a select audience of VIP guests. The show explores the impact of celebrity worship on the mental health of the famous, and those who become infatuated with celebrity. Audience members gathered in the Hall of Celebrity, watched a VIP screening of a short film about the creation of The ICON, and then encountered a celebrity whose identity was concealed in a morph suit who revealed their deepest secrets connected to their own mental health in the Red Chapel. On Saturday, the ICON nearly revealed their identity. Although they did not remove the morph suit, they did pose for photographs and signed autographs to allow guests a chance to try and guess out who it was.

With book and Lyrics by Denis McGrath, music by Scott White and originally produced in Toronto by Derrick Chua for Cattle Productions, TG!TM was nominated for multiple Dora Awards, including Outstanding New Musical. The 26th annual Stages Theatre Festival will introduce Halifax audiences to many new and exciting scripts by playwrights from Atlantic Canada and beyond. Beginning May 28 from the comfort of the Scotiabank Stage, audiences will be offered the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of programming which will include new plays by local writers, musicals in various stages of development, and touring productions from outside the province. This year, STAGES will also offer Professional Development classes to local artists, as well as, two community events; "Singing with Parkinson's" and "Crossroads," a workshop for newly arrived immigrants to Halifax.

Compulsion is a dark, fast-paced roller-coaster ride that asks 'What happens when life's decisions take you to the edge?' The show is a look at the darker side of love and was the runner-up for this year's Paul O'Sullivan Musical Theatre Prize.
When Debbie Read did her first Toronto Fringe Festival in 1989 as a house technician, she didn't realize she would be back every year for the next 29 years. Since that first Toronto Fringe, Debbie has gone from house technician to front of house staff, to volunteer. Along the way she has also produced and designed lights, but mostly - she stage managed: and she has never missed a single year. Her presence at the festival year after year is a sign that the Toronto Fringe builds loyalty not only among festival patrons, but also among the staff and volunteers that make the festival run.
One of the most important theatre festivals in the country, the TORONTO FRINGE FESTIVAL celebrates 30 years this summer. In honour of this major landmark for Canadian theatre, the Festival will feature a stellar line up of shows by many of Canada's hottest theatre artists, a throwback to some of the world's most important theatre productions with the #STARTEDATTHEFRINGE campaign, and a new creative pop-up patio called POSTSCRIPT in the Scadding Court hockey rink, where all events are free and open to the public.
