All-Female MAC BETH Announces One-Week Extension

Red Bull Theater today announced a one-week extension for Mac Beth, the second of its two Off-Broadway productions this season. Performances begin tonight, Tuesday May 7th, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street between Bleecker & Hudson Streets). Tickets are now on sale through June 9th! Opening Night set for May 19th.
John Lennon Biopic to be Developed as Stage Musical

The 2009 film Nowhere Boy, about John Lennon's teenage years has been acquired for development as a stage musical, according to Deadline. The rights have been acquired by producers Brian and Dayna Lee of AF Creative Media, and Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler of Aged in Wood.
Netflix Announces New Live-Action Comedy MALIBU RESCUE

In the upcoming movie Malibu Rescue, Ricardo Hurtado (School of Rock) will star as Tyler, a handsome know-it-all with a fierce competitive streak and Breanna Yde (School of Rock, The Haunted Hathaways) will star as Gina, a tough and self-assured athlete. The live-action comedy follows a ragtag group of aspiring junior lifeguards from The Valley as they compete against the snobby local kids for bragging rights and the ultimate tower at Malibu beach. Kids and teens alike will root for these heroic and funny underdogs and parents will connect with the positive life lessons for their children. The movie is set to launch May 13th on Netflix.

Red Bull Theater will soon present the second of its two upcoming Off-Broadway productions at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street between Bleecker & Hudson Streets). Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan, The Hunger Games, All The Fine Boys), Ismenia Mendes (CSC's The Liar, Cressida in NYSF's Troilus & Cressida), AnnaSophia Robb ('The Carrie Diaries,' 'The Act,' 'Mercy Street,' Down A Dark Hall), Sharlene Cruz (Den of Thieves at Harlem Rep), Sophie Kelly-Hedrick (Off-Broadway debut), Lily Santiago (New York Shakespeare Festival's Othello), and Ayana Workman (The Price of Thomas Scott - Mint, Juliet in NYSF's Romeo & Juliet) will star in MAC BETH, adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt from Shakespeare.

Today the 34th Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced that Michael B. Jordan is set to receive the Cinema Vanguard Award for his work in two of the year's critically acclaimed, culturally significant and record-breaking box office hits, Black Panther and Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM), Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema's Creed II. Jordan will be honored at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, CA on Thursday, February 7th.

Accomplished writer/producer Eunetta T. Boone has joined Disney Channel's hit sitcom 'Raven's Home' as executive producer and showrunner for its third season. She most recently was a consultant on the series, working closely with its executive producer and star Raven-Symoné. Emmy®-nominated writer/producer Warren Hutcherson ('Dr. Ken,' 'The Bernie Mac Show') also joins the creative team as co-executive producer for the series. Production for season three is underway and will premiere in 2019.
