BWW Interview: Michelle Aguillon, Quentin Nguyen-duy, Sarah Shin on ZOOM THEATRE by Asian American Theatre Artists Of Boston

AATAB is not a theatre company. They were originally founded in 2018 as a social collective connected by a Facebook group. In response to Boston's need to embrace local Asian American artists she explains she would rather see established organizations do the work to welcome and elevate members of the community than see an individual company formed.

Breaking: Cast Gathers for 1776 Workshop; Confirmed for Spring 2021 Broadway Season

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the cast has been assembled for Diane Paulus' Broadway-Bound 1776, which just began a Zoom workshop. Exact production dates have not been announced, though the A.R.T. has confirmed that the musical will play as a part of its 2020/21 Season, and Roundabout will bring it to the American Airlines Theatre in Spring 2021.

Village Theatre Will Kick Off the Next Series of Beta Productions with XY, a New Musical

Village Theatre kicks off the next series of Beta Productions with XY, a new musical written by Oliver Houser and developed and directed by Hunter Bird that runs at Village Theatre's First Stage Theatre in Issaquah from February 14 - 23, 2020. The production marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration between Village Theatre and Seattle Rep, who will continue development of the show in a future season.

Cleverly scripted, this gothic tale exposes dark longings and their unpredictable consequences in Nordo's Culinarium February 9 - March 15, 2019.

Casting Announced For Village Theatre's FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS

With The 19th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place this upcoming weekend, Village Theatre is excited to announce the casting for XY, an uplifting musical about identity and coming to terms with your past; Cold Turkey, a wild and funny satire; Modern, an inspiring tale about a group of Amish teenagers; Eastbound, an poignant story about Chinese brothers in search of a home they've never known; and Cowboy Bob, an adventurous rock musical about a bank-robbing woman. The Festival will take place in Issaquah August 9-11, 2019 and provides an essential platform for writers to develop new works. Past Festival shows include Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning shows such as Next to Normal and Million Dollar Quartet, as well as Broadway and Off-Broadway hits: It Shoulda Been You, Desperate Measures, Lizzie, and many more.

ArtsWest Announces 19-20 Season: Agents Of Change

Seattle Opera Presents DECOLONIZING ALLURE: WOMEN ARTISTS OF COLOR IN CONVERSATION

At one point in time, a Seattle Opera ticket offered a relatively predictable experience: an enchanted night out, a grand presentation, and often a familiar telling of a popular work. But in the past few years, Seattle Opera has been inviting audiences to explore this art form from a different perspective. Prior to its May performances of Carmen, the company will hold a free panel discussion that will flip opera's depiction of the exotic "Other" on its head.
