Review: NOEL: JESUS IS BORN! at Kennedy Center

The Kennedy Center has never presented a Christmas spectacular in house before. That is until now. Noel: Jesus is Born! was a family friendly concert in the Opera House that featured lots of great music, some really good talent, and above all, conveyed the true meaning of the season. It’s not all about those big sales or even giving gifts.

Review: MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET at The Fox Theatre

Doris Walker, played by Ellie Baker, was the star of the show, and in more ways than one, her angelic voice and quick wit really played into the fast-talking talking powerful female, Macy’s exact executive, her child, and charisma was matched only by The Man and Red himself. Kris Kringle brought joy and magic to the role of Santa Claus; his calming singing voice and father-like charisma made me, as a 33-year-old, believe in Santa Claus once again. I love the chemistry between Susan Walker, played by Charlotte Surak, and Fred Gailey, played by Truman Griffin.

Review: ELF THE MUSICAL, JR. at DreamWrights

Buddy, played by Lily Ganong in tonight’s show, was as funny and energetic as ever. He meets his grumpy father, played by Dawn Motter, and chaos ensues all over New York City. Jovie, played by Eve Haag, was sassy, and I enjoyed her song “Never Fall in Love (with an Elf).” And of course, there is a Santa Claus, played by John Baxter, who is up to date with the latest technology fly his sleigh and keep track of his list of gifts.

Review: LADY A THIS WINTERS NIGHT TOUR at Treasure Island Resort and Casino

Lady A’s stop at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minnesota, for their This Winter’s Night tour on December 14, 2025, felt like a holiday celebration with friends. Performing in such an intimate venue, the trio — Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood — set the tone early with a heartfelt rendition of “The First Noel.” Hillary’s voice led the way with warmth, while Charles and Dave added their signature harmonies, instantly pulling the audience into the Christmas spirit.

Review: MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET at Connecticut Theatre Company

Cozy, cute, and full of Christmas cheer. That’s what you get with Miracle on 34th Street. That was abound and aplenty at the Connecticut Theatre Company’s production of the motion picture classic! CTC’s production of Miracle on 34th Street kept the joy of the season at the heart of this production, right where it belongs.

Interview: Kabir Gandhi of ELF THE MUSICAL at The Fox Theatre

The national tour of ELF THE MUSICAL is preparing to bring holiday cheer to Atlanta’s Fox Theatre December 16 - 21 as part of the 2025/2026 Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta season. To learn more about this special holiday treat, I caught up with Kabir Gandhi, a Duluth native and member of the ensemble, to talk about his journey from Georgia to the stage, the magic of ELF, and what it means to perform for his hometown crowd.

Review: ELF at The 5th Avenue Theatre

The movie Elf is one of those films that sticks with you throughout your life; you remember the spaghetti, the syrup, and the unrivaled holiday cheer from the unique story. It’s only natural that a story full of this much nostalgia takes on a new life that honors its legacy. Enter Elf: The Musical. All of the magic of the original movie is packed into a stage show with dancing Santas, larger-than-life Christmas trees, and onstage skating that makes you want to join the fun. Seattle has been gifted its very own production this holiday season at the 5th Avenue Theatre. Elf: The Musical, directed and choreographed by Denis Jones, is now running downtown.

Previews: MERRY OL’ MISSOURI: A FAMILY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR at The Missouri Theatre

Merry Ol’ Missouri: A Family Christmas Spectacular returns to the Missouri Theatre in Columbia, Missouri on December 18-20, 2025. Last year’s sold-out, one night only show created such overwhelming demand that producers Melissa Bohon-Webel and Shelby Ringdahl Cox expanded the 2025 holiday spectacular to three performances. The very busy Shelby Ringdahl Cox graciously agreed to sit down with Broadway World and talk about creating Merry Ol’ Missouri: A Family Christmas Spectacular. Melissa and Shelby are the founders of Show Me Theatricals, the creative minds behind Merry Ol’ Missouri: A Family Christmas Spectacular, and the co-directors of the show. Both women grew up in Columbia, Missouri, graduated from Rockbridge High School, and went on to successful performing careers in New York and beyond.

Review: BLACKBARN in NoMad-Dine and Delight

When a restaurant has staying power, you know it’s great.  BLACKBARN has been in the NoMad neighborhood across the street from Madison Square Park for 10 years and counting.
