Chicago to Host the 2018 Culinary Fight Club Grand Championship Competition

On Sunday, August 19th and Monday August 20th, 2018, the national food sport series Culinary Fight Club, will host its annual two-day Grand Championship Competition at Morgan MFG. location 401 N. Morgan St. Day one will be Culinary Fight Fest during which 20 Culinary Fight Club champion professional chefs from nine states will bring their best 'bites' - small hors d'oeuvres - for the audience to taste and vote on. The chefs with the top four bites will advance to day two, The Final Plate, where they will go head to head in a 45-minute mystery basket challenge, using a mystery basket of unknown ingredient to create the one champion gourmet dish. A jury of judges will vote on the winning plate and the 2018 Grand Champion will be awarded $5,000 in cash $5,000 in prizes, competition branded Chef Coats and the coveted Culinary Fight Fest trophy. Attendees of both events will be able to enjoy small bites and appetizers created by the chefs along with samples from leading beverage brands. Three world-renowned artists come together to perform Brahms's complete piano trios at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, February 22 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Pianist Emanuel Ax, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma present the three works chronologically, beginning with Piano Trios Nos. 2 and 3, and concluding with No. 1 While this final work was first written in 1854 when the composer was 20 years old, he revisited the score and premiered a new version in 1890. This later version, most commonly performed today, will be presented as the third piece on this program.

Boston Calling, one of the city's most iconic events and one of the world's largest metropolitan music festivals, announces its 2018 lineup today.
