In March of this year, the American born West End favourite, Lorna Dallas, brought her dazzling new cabaret outing, 'STAGES,' to Crazy Coqs at the Zédel.

Singer/actress/songwriter/author/teacher Harriet Schock has had an incredible career in composing for TV and film. She still performs in live concerts around the globe, gives master classes in songwriting and is lauded for her great skill and humanity in writing songs that resonate with the human spirit. 'Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady' and 'First Time on a Ferris Wheel' are but two of her magnificent hit pop songs. In our conversation she really digs deep to help us understand and feel the songwriting process.

'Now entertain conjecture of a time - maybe it's 1958, maybe it's 1598, maybe it's today...' Christine Andreas opened her show at the Beach Cafe last night by telling the intimate group of Cabaret lovers that contrary to current trends, her show had no theme. I've often said that the best musical experience is when the singer happens to be the pianist. The fingers join the vocal chords and create the most well planned arrangements. I may be wrong. Having your spouse as your pianist and music director also creates a rare and inspired musical experience. Martin Silvestri creates exceptional accompaniments. He is a true artist at the keyboard and happens also to be an Accordion virtuoso, which is extremely effective when Christine sings her unforgettable Piaf medley.

It was Up UP and Away last night at the Eissey Campus Theatre as Jimmy Webb, one of America's most highly regarded songwriters spent an evening playing and singing his music for the Palm Beach Audience. It's always thrilling to hear the stories behind the creation of iconic music, and I was thinking as Jimmy performed his songs, I guess this it what have been like if the likes of George Gershwin and the other great composers were around to spend an evening describing the process and inspiration of creating music and lyrics.

Devised by her long-time collaborators, musical director Christopher Denny and director Barry Kleinbort, 'STAGES' refers to the theates and venues where Ms. Dallas displayed her formidable gifts as a singer and top tier interpreter of popular song, as well as to the formative stages in a life, stages that have taken her from a small town in Southern Illinois to the rarefied hothouse atmosphere of New Orleans, Carnegie Hall and on to dazzling nights in the West End with Sammy Cahn and Dame Cleo Laine, culminating in several Royal Variety performances.

The Australian Discovery Orchestra, the world's first solely digital streaming orchestra, is proud to announce "16 STORIES" - a worldwide online vocal competition. Renowned musical theatre creators from around the world have contributed a song from a musical they have written that has never previously been recorded for commercial release; these 16 songs will comprise an upcoming Australian Discovery Orchestra album, to be released on the Broadway Records label.
