Rubicon Theatre to Present Luis Salgado-Helmed IN THE HEIGHTS Beginning This Month

Rehearsals are underway for the centerpiece of Rubicon Theatre Company's 2022-2023 “Welcome Home” Season – IN THE HEIGHTS by LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA (the creator of Hamilton) and QUIARA ALEGRÍA HUDES. Winner of Tony, Grammy and Olivier Awards, IN THE HEIGHTS is a heartfelt, hopeful, high-energy musical about community, neighborhood and finding where you belong.

CALVIN BERGER Set to Open at The Colony Theatre in February

The Colony Theatre in Burbank (Heather Provost, Producing Artistic Director) has announced a new production of the musical Calvin Berger with preview performances beginning on February 16, 2023. Opening is set for Saturday, February 18, at 8pm.

Norm Lewis Headline Rubicon Theatre Company's 25th Year Benefit Concert

Rubicon Theatre Company will begin its 25th year with a “Starry Soiree” celebration headlined by Emmy, Tony, Grammy and SAG Award Nominee NORM LEWIS. At the October 8th event, attendees will be treated to a concert of musical theatre hits sung by Lewis, Broadway’s first African-American “Phantom” and celebrated artists of stage and screen.

Rubicon Theatre Company to Present ALMOST, MAINE in September

Rubicon Theatre Company will present the third production of its 2022-2023 Season with ALMOST, MAINE, written by JOHN CARIANI and directed by STEPHANIE A. COLTRIN.  ALMOST, MAINE begins previews on Wednesday, September 7; opens on Saturday, September 10 at 7 p.m.; and runs through Sunday, September 25.

SBCC Presents SOMETHING ROTTEN!

The Theatre Group at SBCC is excited to announce the first show of the 2022-23 season will be the exuberant musical, SOMETHING ROTTEN! Book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, Music and Lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, Conceived by Karey Kirkpatrick and Wayne Kirkpatrick.  SOMETHING ROTTEN! will run July 6-23, 2022 in the Garvin Theatre and will be directed by Katie Laris, musical direction by David Potter and choreography by Christina McCarthy.

World Premiere of LONESOME TRAVELER: GENERATIONS to be Presented by Rubicon Theatre Company

Rubicon Theatre Company, Ventura’s non-profit professional theatre company, will continue the company’s 2022-2023 Season with the World Premiere of LONESOME TRAVELER: GENERATIONS, conceived by George Grove and James O’Neil, with musical direction by Rick Dougherty and George Grove and direction by Rubicon Co-Founder James O’Neil.

SLEUTH Comes To The New Vic In Santa Barbara In June

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) presents the fifth and final show of its 2021-2022 Season, one of the most iconic and celebrated thrillers ever written, SLEUTH, by Anthony Shaffer and directed by Jenny Sullivan. SLEUTH begins previews on Thursday, June 9 at 7:30pm, opens on Saturday, June 11 at 8:00pm and runs through Sunday, June 26, 2022 at The New Vic, 33 W. Victoria Street in Santa Barbara. 

BWW Feature: TWILIGHT: LOS ANGELES at Rubicon Theatre

NAACP, Garland and Ovation Award-winning actor Chris Butler plays 36 different roles in Rubicon Theatre Company’s production of Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 by Anna Deavere Smith. The production begins previews on April 27 and opens on April 29, the 30th anniversary, to the day, of the announcement of the verdict in the Rodney King Trial and what was then called the L.A. Riots.

Rubicon Theatre Launches National Tour Of THE GIN GAME This Weekend

The Rubicon Theatre in Ventura will open the company’s doors once again for its first production since the pandemic began with a very special pre-season event featuring acclaimed stars of screen and television, JoBeth Williams and Joe Spano, starring in The Gin Game by D.L. Coburn and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Rubicon Theatre is the first stop on a national tour of this Pulitzer Prize winning dramedy.
