Playwrights Announced For Theatre East's 5X5 Drama Series

Theatre East announces the five playwrights selected for the 2018-2019 5X5 Drama Series: Barbara Blumenthal Erlich, Lilly Camp, Julia Rae Maldonado, Margie Semilof, and Travis Tate. The 5X5 Drama Series brings performances beyond the footlights and into non-traditional spaces in all five boroughs for a unique immersive audience experience. Theatre East is an official partner of NYC Pride, and this year's 5X5 Drama Series will feature original, commissioned work celebrating the LGBTQ community as we remember the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. Fulfilling one of Theatre East's core beliefs of making theatre accessible to all, tickets are available on a suggested donation basis.

Ensemble Studio Theatre Gala to Honor the Marathon of One-Act Plays

ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATRE announces its 50th Birthday Gala honoring the people and legacy of EST's Marathon of One-Act Plays. The 50th Birthday Gala will take place on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 6:30PM at the New York Museum of Contemporary Art (528 West 39th Street, 3rd Fl.).

Dave Malloy's OCTET Extends at Signature

The Signature Theatre production of Octet, a world premiere chamber choir musical by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812) and directed by Annie Tippe (Ghost Quartet), has been extended one week and will now play throughJune 16, 2019.

One Week Extension Announced For CURSE OF THE STARVING CLASS At Signature Theatre

A one-week extension has been announced today for the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of Curse of the Starving Class by Sam Shepard and directed by Tony Award nominee Terry Kinney. The production will now run April 23 to June 2, 2019 with a Monday, May 13 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Cast Announced for World Premiere of Ryan Oliveira's DESIRE IN A TINIER HOUSE

Full cast and crew have been announced for Pride Films and Plays season closer - the world premiere of DESIRE IN A TINIER HOUSE by the Chicago playwright Ryan Oliveira, a 2016 Romulus Linney Scholar and Eugene O'Neill Theatre Conference semi-finalist. The production, which had a workshop by Chicago's Commission Theatre in 2017, will be directed by Pride Films and Plays Artistic Associate Topher Leon, who made the casting announcement today.

Ensemble Studio Theatre And Radio Drama Network Announce Lineup For 37th Marathon Of One-Act Plays

Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) (William Carden, Artistic Director, Sarah McLellan, Executive Director) and the Radio Drama Network (Melina Brown, President) announced today the lineup for the 37th Marathon of One-Act Plays. This year's selection of fifteen plays were chosen from 1120 submissions. They will be presented across three different series from Sunday, May 12, 2019 through Saturday, June 29, 2019.'

The cast and creative team have been announced for the Signature Theatre production of Octet, a world premiere musical by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy and directed by Annie Tippe. Octet is the first production in Malloy's Signature Residency, which will include three productions over the course of five years.

I'm Just Kidneying takes a whimsical look into the process of living kidney donation and pokes holes into the idea of what it takes to be "hero material."
