Cincinnati Opera concludes its 2022 Summer Festival July 21-31 with two powerful opera productions and one star-studded concert event.

Next week, 54 BELOW will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

What did our critic think of AIN'T TOO PROUD at Key Bank Palace? AIN'T TOO PROUD: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE TEMPTATIONS, which is now on stage at the State Theatre as part of the Key Bank Broadway Series, is a 2018 jukebox musical with music and lyrics by The Temptations and book by Dominique Morisseau.

BATSU! Chicago premieres their newly renovated venue in renowned Japanese restaurant, Kamehachi, as they welcome audiences back on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 7pm CT.

The Beautiful City Project announces the cast of its August fundraising cabaret BALL NIGHT, with proceeds to benefit Special Olympics Illinois, an organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Kimmel Cultural Campus has a masterful work currently playing at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, before heading out on the rest of its first national tour. Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s to Kill a Mockingbird, directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, is a powerhouse of a production that is filled to the brim with excellent direction, haunting score, and stellar performances.

After more than a decade, Kate Berlant will make her long-awaited return to the New York stage with her new one-woman comedy Kate, directed by Bo Burnham.

Sarasota Opera announces an added title in its “HD at the Opera House” series with a screening of “Der Rosenkavalier” on Sunday, September 25. This historic Salzburg Festival production stars legendary soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. Sarasota Opera also rescheduled a film of Verdi's Rigoletto to September 11 (from May) with tickets for these “HD at the Opera House” films on sale for $22, and $20 for Sarasota Opera subscribers.  

Identical is based on the novel ‘The Parent Trap’ by Erich Kästner, which inspired the Disney films featuring Hayley Mills in 1961 and Lindsay Lohan in 1998.  Destined for the West End, it will open at Nottingham Playhouse 26 July – 14 August 2022, then transfer to Salford’s The Lowry 19 August – 3 September 2022. Jazzmobile returns with its 58th annual Summerfest series, which takes over a myriad of stages throughout the city's five boroughs with a dancing and diverse assemblage of nearly 30 jazz stars and emerging talents from July 6 to August 31.

Destination Motown: featuring the Sensational Soul Cruisers will perform in Centenary Stage Company's Sitnik Theatre on Saturday, July 23 at 8:00 pm as part of CSC's 2022 Summerfest. This performance will take place in the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University.
