El pianista Carlos Alberto Pecero (1963), integrante de la agrupación Concertistas de Bellas Artes y uno de los intérpretes con mayor reconocimiento internacional, falleció este miércoles. Su amplia trayectoria en el ámbito musical le permitió contar con distinciones y presentaciones al lado de grandes figuras, como los violonchelistas Yo-Yo Ma y Mstislav Rostropovich, así como la flautista Elena Durán.

San Diego Opera's 2019-2020 season continues with a special one-night-only event on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 7:30 PM when soprano Ailyn Pérez and tenor Joshua Guerrero perform in concert at the Balboa Theatre. They will be accompanied by pianist Abdiel Vázquez. Ailyn Pérez is no stranger to San Diego Opera, having made her Company debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in 2010, returning to sing Marguerite in Faust in 2011, and in recital in 2014. In demand at all the major opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, and Opéra National de Paris, Ms. Pérez is the winner of the 2012 Richard Tucker Award, the 15th annual Plácido Domingo Award, and the 14th annual Opera News Award.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts spotlights the extraordinary artistry of Jorge Federico Osorio, who makes his Los Angeles recital debut with a program of Bach, Schubert, Liszt, Debussy, Albeniz, Ricardo Castro and Manuel Ponce, one night only on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 7:30 pm. The solo recital, held in The Wallis' esteemed Bram Goldsmith Theater, includes two Chorale Preludes by Bach, Schubert's Sonata in A Major, Liszt's Valle d'Obermannand three Preludes by Debussy. Osorio, a native of Mexico, also performs works by three Hispanic composers - Isaac Albeniz's Mallorca (Barcarola), Ricardo Castro's Barcarola, and Manuel Ponce's Rapsodia Cubana andBalada Mexicana.

The hit West End production of Motown the Musical this weekend will celebrate its second birthday at the Shaftesbury Theatre and announces that from 6 March 2018 the West End cast will be led by Jay Perry as Berry Gordy, Natalie Kassanga as Diana Ross and Carl Spencer as Marvin Gaye. They join David Albury who continues in the role of Smokey Robinson. Cruz Lee-Ojo, 11 years old from Uxbridge also joins the Company to share the role of Young Michael Jackson, Berry Gordy and Stevie Wonder with Tumo Reetsang, 12 years old from Southwark, London.
