Photo Flash: First Look at the World Premiere of FAST FOOD CHAIN at Adventure Stage Chicago

Adventure Stage Chicago (ASC), a program of the Northwestern Settlement, opens its world premiere of ASC Artistic Associate Andrew Marikis' Fast Food Chain tonight, Friday, April 26, at the Vittum Theater, 1012 N. Noble Street (press opening April 27). This production continues ASC's 15th season, which explores the many challenges of hunger, both literal and metaphorical. Fast Food Chain is directed by Black Ensemble Theater's Daryl Brooks, who helmed ASC's Akeelah and the Bee last season. Casting for the new production includes Davon Roberts (Rudy), La Shone T. Kelly (Akari), Sonya Cha'Rae (Ursula), Yahdina U-Deen (Mbeku), Kelvin Davis (Eddie), Rian Jairell (Mr. Lyons) andLisa Revis (Shadow 1).

Transcendent Ensemble Theatre Co.'s HAMLET Begins Tonight

TETC continues the transmutation of classic cannons in this immersive new interpretation of Shakespeare's HAMLET. Set in 1968 after the Summer of Love, this ensemble of seven actors bring the text to life in a whole new way exploring the anarchy and chaos of the American 60s. It's a rebellion against the system! Claudius, the new king, promises peace. Hamlet, hates the 'establishment' and wants to avenge his father's death. Revenge, sex, murder, greed! Something is rotten! Come hang with the hippies and watch it all unfold!

The event will include a dramatic presentation of scenes from VISIONS OF ANNA featuring Richard Engling, Allison McCorkle, Rian Jairell and Margo Chervony. This is the final AFTERLIFE TRILOGY event before Polarity Ensemble Theatre begins rehearsals for ANNA IN THE AFTERLIFE, opening April 25, 2015 at The Greenhouse Theater Center.
