The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theatre Company, kicks off their 29th season with the World Premiere of Gordon Dahlquist's [Veil Widow Conspiracy]. Aneesha Kudtarkar directs a cast that will include Edward Chin-Lyn, Kimiye Corwin, Bruce McKenzie, David Shih, James Seol, Karoline Xu, and Aaron Yoo. This Off-Broadway limited engagement at Next Door at New York Theatre Workshop (79 East 4th Street) will begin performances Saturday June 8th with Opening Night set for June 15th (7pm).  Performances continue through July 6th only.

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the much lauded homo-poet Walt Whitman's birth, a group of Philly queers and misfits known as The Bearded Ladies Cabaret gathers to put this ancestor and his legacy on trial. Should Whitman be canceled? Can he be? Come with friends, complaints, heroes and villains alike. All are welcome. Presented by La MaMa, the New York premiere performances will take place in the Ellen Stewart Theater (June 20 - 29).

Everybody Black is a play. On a stage. But it actually comes off like a series of television programs that one might come across channel surfing in a fit of insomnia; a fever dream of sorts in which the sleepless viewer has mysteriously slipped into a different world than they remember.

As soon as I saw Lucas Hnath's name on the docket for this current season's Humana Festival, I knew immediately which show I most wanted to see. The fact that there was a supernatural aspect to it was an added bonus. I'm happy to report that I don't feel that my anticipation was wasted.

New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, shared with Broadway World a first look into their new production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Waiting for Godot (Vartn Af Godot), translated to Yiddish by Shane Baker, and directed by Ronit Muszkatblit. Currently in previews at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003) and performing through Sunday, January 27th, 2019. Official opening is Sunday, January 6th at 2:00 P.M.. Waiting for Godot performs in Yiddish with English super-titles.

Eli Rosen has stepped into the role of Vladimir in the New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, production of Waiting for Godot in Yiddish (Vartn Af Godot), translated by Shane Baker, and directed by Ronit Muszkatblit. Rosen replaces previously announced Rafael Goldwaser, who has departed the company due to unforeseen circumstances unrelated to the production.

Waiting for Godot will perform in Yiddish with English super-titles for a five-week limited engagement from Sunday, December 24th, 2018 through Sunday, January 27th, 2019 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003). Here's an odd couple for you. Warm, inviting, trusting Midwesterner Sharon (Linda Powell) and shadowy, cautious, tough-as-nails Robyn (Tasha Lawrence), whose last known residence was The Bronx. One suspects that Sharon, a 50something divorcee could use some extra money and, perhaps, some company. Robyn, also a divorcee and now self-proclaimed lesbian, needs some space from her shady past. Both have varying estranged relationships with their children (voiceovers by Isaac Bloodworth as Sharon's son and Moira Malone as Robyn's daughter).

Corkscrew Theater Festival presents Field, Awakening, written by Melis Aker and directed by Tatiana Pandiani. Running July 14-22, Field, Awakening is a political drama set in Turkey in 2016, where a group of high school friends reunites at a soccer field on the evening of an attempted military coup. As the night progresses, the friends unexpectedly find themselves at the center of international strife, and they begin to realize that the Turkey they called home may be rapidly disappearing. Performed by Kieron Anthony, Ayse Babahan, Jamar Brathwaite, Sinan Eczacibasi*, Fahim Hamid*, and Nazli Sarpkaya, Field, Awakening is the second production in the second annual season of Corkscrew Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that provides early-career artists with a high level of production support.

The final production of Mosaic Theater Company of DC's third season will be the world premiere staging of The Vagrant Trilogy, written by Mona Mansour and directed by Mark Wing-Davey. The Vagrant Trilogy is comprised of three different one-act plays: The Hour of Feeling, The Vagrant, and Urge for Going. These three plays, combined for the first time in one epic performance, follows Palestinian scholar Adham and his family over multiple generations and in multiple continents.

Underground Railway Theater is proud to present Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj from March 1 to April 1, 2018 and is directed by Gabriel Vega Weissman. The press performance is Monday, March 5 at 7:30PM.

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Producing Artistic Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director) will present two experimental plays in which sound design is intrinsic to story, text and theatrical landscape in rep together at The Flea Theater (20 Thomas Street between Church Street and Broadway), February 14-March 4
