Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will kick off its 30th Anniversary Season with a new production of Howard Korder's comedy, BOYS' LIFE, directed by Michael Greif.

If Tracie Thoms' life was written as an old fashioned Broadway musical it would go something like this, 'Girl wants role, girl doesn't get role, girl REALLY wants role, girl finally gets role and then girl REALLY gets role…again.' Sound complicated? Not so much. BroadwayWorld caught up with her and we spoke at length about her thrilling and inspiring 'Quest for Joanne'.

Thomas, a successful businessman and the descendent of former slaves to the estate, has a plan to save the land: turn it into subdivisions and sell it to the white families fleeing the city. Wendy C. Goldberg, Artistic Director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference (NPC) and Paulette Haupt, Artistic Director of the National Music Theater Conference (NMTC), announced the actors cast in their 2008 projects. The actors include a mix of award-winning actors from stage and screen, seasoned O'Neill performers, and new talent.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) has announced that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's new play, GOOD BOYS AND TRUE, will begin preview performances on Wednesday, April 23 at Second Stage Theatre (307 West 43rd Street, just west of Eighth Avenue).

Henry Godinez, resident artistic associate of Goodman Theatre, and director of the Goodman's Latino Theatre Festival, has been appointed the first artistic director of Northwestern University's Theatre and Interpretation Center.

Curt Columbus is the new Artistic Director of Trinity Repertory Company. On September 20, 2006 he will have his first opening night of his first show at Trinity, He is directing Anton Chekhov's 'Cherry Orchard', which he also translated.

Manhattan Theatre Club will host a special edition of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation's 'One-on-One Conversation Series' with Tony Award winning directors Doug Hughes (Defiance, Doubt) and Daniel Sullivan (Rabbit Hole, Proof) with moderator Mandy Greenfield, MTC Director of Artistic Operations, on Monday, March 13 at 6 PM at New York City Center- Stage I (131 West 55th Street).
